"come on, let's loosen up."
Namjoon guides anxiety stricken Hoseok to the bar. "we had a long, overwhelming session and i think you need a drink. so do i..." he chuckles, nudging the younger boy onto the leather stool before taking a seat beside him. he gazes around the bar, spotting friends and couples.
truth is, bringing Hoseok to a bar straight after he spilt his heart out to a technicalstranger isn't a good idea. the boy is overwhelmed by all that left his mouth, from traumatic pasts to undeniable, future worrries he knows is going to come. Namjoon just wants to help, distract him– he knows he needs time to reflect on everything he just said but really? he can always do that later...
he and Hoseok look like the other groups at the bar– friends and they're no such thing. Namjoon is breaking so many rules by even having a drink with him and hanging out with him outside of practice. professional? definitely not. a good distraction? forsure.
Hoseok thoughtlessly takes a seat, ordering drinks for the two. his mind is still bombarded by the fact that he'll never fall in love or be a father and how his parents disowned him. "i appreciate this man— i haven't been out for a drink in a while." he mentions, thanking the bartender as he looks around. just like Namjoon, he's observant of the people around him. they all look so happy, just like him but he knows, more than anyone, facades work.
"that makes the two of us." Namjoon clicks their glasses together, also ready to distract himself. he's aware of the devil on his shoulder speaking, you're hanging out with your client so you can distract yourself, you're so selfish. "i shouldn't be really doing this..." he admits, scratching under his knee as he sits up in his seat– looking tall as ever. he feels anxious being here– surrounded by so many people at a time he's usually tucked into bed. he knows that maybe he needs therapy.
"hanging out with me?"
"yeah, but who cares right? life is too short." the statement feels far too foreign on Namjoon's tongue as he tosses his drink back. his chestnut eyes briefly shut as his hair stays in its perfect place. Hoseok beams, appreciative of the way his therapist feels like a friend even when he shouldn't. he downs his drink, tapping his jean covered thigh with thrill.
in the far corner of the room, the words "it is what it is" leave Taehyung's mouth as he downs a drink at the same time as the two far away boys.
the scenes occur at the same time.
"life is... far too short." the singer adds before leaning into Crema's face and breaking the distance.
Crema gives in, feeling Yoongi's black looking eyes also watching them. she places her hand on Taehyung's trouser classes thigh, fingers grazing over the single, silver ring on his pinky finger. the three have come out for drinks in a rowdy bar that screams vintage and messy stories. she herself, has always been one but do men, people like Yoongi and Taehyung fit in here? do their stories fit in with the people here, like the two men at the bar who seem like close friends?
the single woman takes a moment to observe her place in the bar. here she is, with a man who's beyond her imagination who's best friend is in love with him. she oddly feels like she fits in here.
so do they.
"life is also unique, extraordinary and full of messy stories." Crema replies, letting her index finger trail down Taehyung's lips. they're reddening with each cup of brownish alcohol he takes, so much more mesmerising. she pulls down his bottom, enticing lip as he stares longingly at her– he's listening but it appears as if he isn't. she likes knowing he has her attention, even with it's her sexuality and beauty.
he's spent all his childhood listening and now that he's older, he doesn't want to listen.
Yoongi pitches in, air around him heavy with smoke as he sits across from the duo who look good together and might actually be good together. "i agree with your woman Tae but life fucking sucks," he shrugs, leaning forward to offer Crema a cigarette which she accepts with slight hesitancy. "life is one big messy story that humans think they can control when in reality, you can't— you just fucking can't and you never will. there's no free will or clear decision making— there's just the nature of actions and humans run on love or lust."
Crema gives the fiery cigarette back to the fiery boy before questioning with a certain gleam in her green eyes. "and which do you function on? lust or love?"
the older boy remains quiet, blank expression remaining on his face. Crema doesn't back down however, she stares back and reads behind his mask– she sees the emotions that even Taehyung doesn't even attempt to see. "yeah me too. i don't know which anymore, maybe a mixture of both," and when she looks back at Taehyung who's standing up to go to the bar– she realises she couldn't be more right.
Taehyung leaves the two alone and in the midst of the rowdy crowds and open couples, Yoongi and Crema stare at each other with intimidating, relating eyes. "and do you know Taehyung enough to know which he runs on?" she needs to know what she's getting herself into, she thinks, preparing.
the friend clears his throat. "of course i know him. i'm his best friend," he smooths a hand over his eyelid, now bringing attention to his tired looking eyes. "—so i hear the things no one else hears. although, he comes across as a reserved, disobedient and aggressive bastard, he's actually quite open with his feelings and he's very..."
Yoongi thinks, looking away. "what's the word—"
"risky." Taehyung's best friend declares, the word settling into the atmosphere uncomfortably. "you'd be risking your entire life just by standing next to him."
