Splatoon: HSC Original C4

C4 P1 - Memories

The group had taken the heli back to Inkopolis, as 8 and 9 had nowhere to go, Pearl offered to take them back to the mansion (They have so many spare bedrooms that I don't think Pearl even knows how many there are).

Now that 9 had a moment to think, he thought about his past. While he barely remembered anything, he remembered...something. He was running through a city, he saw some large doors which he ran to and then...it went dark. 9 wasn't sure what it meant, but he hoped to figure it out.

The next morning when they were having breakfast, he couldn't help but notice that everyone except 8 were sneaking looks at him. It made him feel anxious. He eventually worked up the courage to ask.

9: "Is something wrong guys?"

Marina: "Well, we couldn't help but notice that you look a bit...different."

9: "The Cap'n said that when I first met him. Something about being part Octarian."

Dan: "Do you know what the other part of you is?"

9: "I honestly don't know, I barely remember anything about my past and I just can't make sense of it."

Daisy: "Hmm..."

Pearl: "What's up, Daisy?"

Daisy: "Well I think I might have an idea of what 9 is."

Marina: "Really? What do you think he is?"

Daisy whispers to Dan, he looks at Daisy with confusion.

Dan: "Really? Actually...I see what you mean."

Pearl: "Don't keep us hanging, what do you know!?"

Daisy whispered to Dan again, he nodded in approval.

Daisy: "We wanna talk to 9 first, if that's okay with him."

9: "Yeah yeah, that's fine."

The three of them left the table and went into 9's spare bedroom. Dan and Daisy grabbed some chairs and 9 sat on his bed.

9: "So...what's up?"

Daisy: "Well, I want you to look in this mirror."

Daisy hands 9 a mirror, he looks at it in confusion. It was just him.

9: "I don't understand."

Dan: "Look at your face, then look at ours. Tell us if you notice anything."

9 looks closely at his features, he then looked at Dan and Daisy's faces.

Then it clicked.

9: "I...look like you guys."

Dan: "Yep. You're part human 9."

9: "No way..."

Daisy: "I know this is quite the shock, but do you wanna go tell the others?"

9: "Yeah...just give me a moment."

After 9 processed everything, they stood up and left the bedroom. They entered the dining room again with Pearl looking rather impatient.

Pearl: "Well?"

Daisy: "We've discussed it, and we believe we know what he is. Wanna tell them 9?"

9: "I'm...part human."

Pearl nearly choked on her food and spat it out. Everyone just looked at them with disbelief.

Daisy: "If you look carefully, it makes sense."

They turned to 9, who just felt uncomfortable with all everyone glaring at him.

Marina: "A Human-Octarian hybrid? Incredible..."
