C4 P3 - Starting Fresh

Jace woke up from his cryopod, it made a loud hissing sound as it popped open. He barely managed to open his eyes to look around. The room looked completely destroyed.

???: "[CRYOPOD #13 UNLOCKED] [EXTRACTING SPECIMEN]"

That voice, it sounded like...

Two pairs of hands then grabbed Jace and forced him out of his pod. Jace was trying to shout in protest, but nothing came out. He couldn't move, so he had to let them take him.

Jace looked around and got a good look at the people holding him, at least, he thought they were people. They were nothing he had ever seen before.

They took him into a room with what appeared to be two specimen tanks and some sort of machine connected to them. One of the tanks had someone in it. It looked like the people that were holding him, but they looked more normal looking.

He was taken up some stairs and was at the top of the empty specimen tank. Jace tried to struggle, but his strength had not returned. A mask was put on his mouth and he was then dropped in.

The Specimen tank was then closed. He then heard a loud humming noise, he managed to turn his head and saw that the machine had turned on.

???: [ACTIVATING DNA MIXER] [10 MINUTES UNTIL COMPLETION]

Jace then felt small sharp needles poke him. His eyes then started to feel heavy and he passed out.

"Jace..."

"Jace."

"JACE!"

Jace woke up to Dan shaking him, everyone was around him with a rather concerned expression.

Jace: "Huh...wha...?"

Dan: "I've been trying to wake you up for ages, what happened!?"

Jace: "Well I...ate a Mem Cake...?"

Callie: "Oooooh what did you remember?"

Jace: "I remember waking up out of my cryopod and being dragged into some room. I was then forced into a tank and then being prodded by countless needles. Oh, there was an Octoling in another tank as well. We were both connected by some sort of machine."

Amelia: "What's a Cryopod?"

Dan: "Oh right, you guys don't know. I'll fill you guys in."

Dan and Daisy explained to Callie, Amelia, Olivia and Jace what a cryopod was and where they came from.

Daisy: "That's pretty much it."

Marina: "Oh that reminds me, could we go to the bunker at some point? Like I said before, I really want to see more human technology."

Dan: "*Sigh* Sure, I have some unfinished business there anyways."

Marina: "Oh...right. I'm sorry."

Dan: "No no it's fine, this needs to happen anyways."

Daisy: "How about we do it after the next Splatfest?"

Pearl: "Speaking of that, we should go get ready to announce the results of the Splatoween fest 'Rina."

Marina: "Yeah, I'm sure Treat has won!"

Pearl: "Yeah yeah, keep talking."

Pearl and Marina leave the room, muttering about who the victor will be.

Dan: "You gonna get up Jace?"

Jace: "Yeah that would probably be wise."

Jace gets out of bed and the group head into the living room to chill.
