Jitters Girl

Before the start of a new day at work Barry walks into Jitters for his morning coffee.

"Good Morning Barry." The lady at the register says.

"Good Morning to you too Aurora." Barry replies.

"The usual?" She asks already knowing the answer.

"You know it." Barry laughs handing her the money for his drink.

"Have a good day at work. I'll see you same time tomorrow." She began.

"Of course. Thanks Aurora." He tells her taking the coffee from her hand and heading out the door.

Barry kept coming the same time each morning for the next week. Aurora talked to him each day for the little time he had before work.

Expecting to see Barry arrive she looked towards the door but he didn't come.

5 minutes pass and no Barry.

Aurora worries as Barry comes at the same time everyday.
Aurora's POV
Maybe Barry came in early before my shift? But why he always tells me he will see me again the next day? Is he okay? I better check.

Wondering where Barry was I ask for someone to cover the rest of my shift. I get into my car and start to drive to the CCPD. Barry told me he worked there during one of our many conversations. He also told me he always late, and that may be because of me. Talking to him is always so fun that I don't want him to leave. But I do know I will see him the next day.

As I arrive to Barry work. I walk out of the elevator and to the receptionist of the precinct.

"Hi, is Barry Allen here?" I ask the lady as she looks up from her computer.

"No he's not in today. Do you need him?" She asks.

"Do you know where he is?" I ask again.

"He's out sick ma'am. May I ask why you are looking for him?" She questions me.

I start to tell her about Barry and I and how it wasn't normal for him to not come. She was very nice about everything and even agreed to tell me where I could find him. I thanked her then got back into my car and drove away.
Barrys POV
"Ughhhh" I groan trying to get up.

This day has been so horrible. I woke up with a cough, runny noise and headaches. I couldn't even go to work. But I'm mostly mad about not being able to see Aurora.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Who is it?" I yell with a feeling of roughness in my throat.

"Barry it's me." The voice calls.

It was a sweet calming voice that I instantly knew.

The voice walks in and a smile appears in my face.

"Aurora."

"Hi Barry. I brought you something." She says holding up my favorite cup of coffee.

"It's a little something to make you feel better." She smiles.

"Thank you. But how did you find me or know I was sick?" I ask.

"Well since you didn't show up this morning, I got a little worried. When you told me you worked at the CCPD I went there to check on you. The lady at the desk told me you were sick and gave me your place." Aurora explains.

"You didn't have to do all of this." I say.

"How could I not? I see you each day and I missed you." She tells me as she blushes.

"I missed you too. You really do make my morning each and everyday." I respond. She comes over to the couch I lay on and sit next to me.

"Aurora I don't want you to catch my cold." I say shyly knowing I don't want her to leave.

"I'll be fine Barry. I just want to be with you." She says confidently. Aurora takes my head and places it on her shoulder. I rest against her as she does the same to me.

I tried not to fall asleep but it was hard not to. I eventually close my eyes and feel a gentle kiss on my forehead.
