Back in time

Exploration and admiration of the future

Nathalie placed her phone down and felt her clothes change, she smiled and shoved herself out of bed, she was excited to explore the future, but also not.

Penny held her hand up to her face, trying to block out the bright sun in order to get a better view of her phone, where had they agreed to meet up again?
She scrolled through the messages that they had been sending all night, until she eventually came to a stop, the park! The park, of course.

She shoved her phone back into the purse she had borrowed from Future-Nathalie (What a kind woman) and started walking towards the park, the very same one where they had appeared out of nowhere.

She stared at the worn-down benches and signs, they looked so different now... so old. Nearly everything was the same as it was in the past, but it just felt off... it felt so wrong and out of place.

She eventually arrived at the park, where she found Nathalie waiting for her on a bench,

"Hey Nat!" She shouted, running over to her friend,

Nathalie looked up, "Oh hey!" She smiled,

Penny sat down beside her, "Whatcha doin' ?"

Nathalie rolled her eyes, "Waiting for you obviously,"

"Makes sense,"

There was an awkward silence as nobody knew what to say, it only lasted for a few seconds but it felt like hours. Penny, being the kind of person who hated awkwardness, decided to end it.

"So!" She said suddenly, "What do you wanna look at first?"

"Hm," Nathalie thought for a second, "Maybe... the Eiffel tower?"

"The Eiffel tower?!" Penny whined, "It's been there for years I don't think it would've moved!"

Nathalie laughed, "Well duh, it just seemed like a good starting point,"

"Huh," Penny said, "Yeah that does seem like a good idea,"

Penny stood up, "Right then! Let's get going,"

"Wait, wait!" Nathalie said now stood up,

"What?"

"Are you sure you aren't going to be cold?" She asked, pointing to Penny's outfit,

She had a point, her outfit wasn't exactly suitable for cold weather,

"I'll be fine," Penny reassured her, "If we keep moving I won't have a chance to get cold,"

"If you say so," Nathalie said,

Penny suddenly had a great idea, "If you don't want me to get cold we'd better do some exercise!"

"Exercise?" Nathalie asked confused,

"Exercise keeps you warm," Penny said, "And so to stay warm, we're gonna do some,"

Penny suddenly took off running towards the park gate, "Race ya!"
