I was waiting in the living room waiting for Adrian to come down so we could leave. The living room was grand it had a high ceiling compared to other parts of the house. The plasma T.V. was mounted on the wall and below it was the fireplace. There were big glass sliding doors that gave a great view of the backyard which was huge. Now that I think about it I don't know what my brothers do to have a house like this.

"Let's go." Adrian's voice came from the entrance of the living room. He was dressed in some black pants paired with a dark grey turtleneck and a black coat. We walked to the door that was connected to the garage. My eyes grew wide as I saw the cars that were parked.

"Come on this one is mine, maybe soon we could convince Adrik to let you get you a driver's license and a car. Once we all turned 16 we got ours, wait how old are you." He rambled as we go inside his sleek black G-Wagon. I put up my fingers showing him a 16.

"Wait I thought that you were older?"

"I turn 17 in a month." I wrote in a tiny notebook that I carried around with me. He gave me a nod and a smile. The rest of the car ride was good it consisted of him rambling and telling me about his kitten Salem who I couldn't wait to meet.

We made it to the mall it was huge, I've never been to one so I had really low expectations. He gave his car to a valet. He grabbed my hand and pulled me forward he looked really excited. When we entered there were a lot of shops some look more classy than others.

We entered a store, most of the clothes that were sold there were comfortable ones. I started to look there was so much to choose from. Everything that I would glance at or touch Adrian got. I shook my head at him and tried to put it back but he wouldn't budge. It was a fight I couldn't win.

We got a variety of clothes and shoes, this whole shopping trip was giving me a headache. He told me to get whatever because Adrik said so and he was paying for everything.

We had many bags, we went from store to store. It was exhausting. I was feeling tired and out of breath so, I stood against the giant wall to catch my breath. Adrian saw me and his eyes held concern. Immediately he grabbed my hand and we started walking, I could hear him talking over the phone but I wasn't paying attention.

Before I knew it we were in his car and I started to feel a bit better.

"What happened back there you scared me." His tone was soft, it made me smile how concerned he was for me. I haven't felt that in a long time. I pulled out my notebook from my pocket and began writing.

"I feel better, I think I was just feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Thank you for everything."

"You don't have to thank me for anything that is what big brothers are for. You know it feels so surreal to have you here with us, I know you have questions, but I think its best for us to discuss everything as a family." I felt cared for and I wanted to grasp onto that feeling as long as I could. I know that some of my brothers held some sort of hate towards me, but so far the good has outweighed the bad. I was scared that this was all a facade and everything would come crumbling down.

We had arrived home and Rosalie and Adrian were helping me put away with all the clothes that we had gotten. Adrian excused himself telling me that he was going to bring Salem so I could meet her and I was excited.

He came back in with the cutest kitten I've ever seen, she was clinging onto him. He passed her over to me and she was jumping all over the place and rubbing herself on me. She was very fluffy I couldn't help but cuddle her. She had the biggest eyes she was so adorable.

"Adrik has a Doberman named Echo and she and Salem are attached the hip. When I first got her I was scared that Echo was going to kill her." He chuckled seeming to remember the first time her brought her home.

"When can I meet Echo, I've always wanted a dog."

"Soon, but you can't meet her just yet because Adrik has to be there to make sure that Echo knows that you are not a stranger."  We continued talking and I eventually fell asleep with Salem on my bed. I felt someone kiss my forehead.

Adrian's POV:

Warmth and happiness were what I felt being around Anastasia. I was worried about her in the mall I texted Adrik and he told me that we needed to take her to a doctor's checkup.

She and Salem looked adorable sleeping. They were curled up next to each other, she looked so peaceful and not worried. I've seen the looks she has, it breaks my heart because she's still a kid to me, and she seems to be carrying all this weight on her shoulder.

I was sitting on the couch on my laptop catching up on some work. Aleksander comes in looking tired and plops down next to me sighing. I don't bother asking because I would be lying if I cared about what was bothering him. Honestly, it was always the same thing, it was the wretched woman that he called his girlfriend. You would think that he would know how to pick out a decent woman, but no he went to pick out the worst of the worst. He kept sighing causing me to slam my laptop and look at him.

"What did she do now dear brother," I asked rolling my eyes.

"You know how Adrik is having this dinner tomorrow to introduce Anastasia to Devin and Octavia, well it accidentally slipped when I was talking to Stella. She wants to come now, and I don't think that is a good idea and I told her that. Of course, she started an argument with me. I just know Stella is going to say something rude to Anastasia." He groaned. We wanted to introduce Ana to them because she and Octavia are the same age and they would be attending the same school. Devin was one of our best assassins and a great friend of the family. Devin and Octavia were siblings, their parents have been friends of the family for a long time, but unfortunately, they passed away.

"If you know she is going say something rude to Ana, then you should reevaluate that whole thing you call a relationship. Ana is your sister which might I had you have made no effort to get to know. Plus you know Adrik can't stand her and Alexei straight-up insults her, it would be a shit show if you brought her."

"You are right, but Stella and I've been together since college, and it's hard to leave someone you've known so long for. As for Anastasia, I've been busy, but I've taken a day off work on Saturday to dedicate to spending time with her." I was happy that he was making an effort, I know that finding out she is alive has been something that has caught us all off guard. Nothing that happened was her fault, so that anger that they feel shouldn't be taken out on her. I love my brothers but they were idiots.

I couldn't wait to see what this dinner tomorrow was going to bring.
