Anastasia's POV:I sat in the living room. I had a great view of the city. Adrik had left me here while he went to the office he had here to inform my brothers. I kept thinking about Domenico and our conversation. When we talked everything seemed to flow naturally. I had given him my phone number since he asked for it. Although I had told him that I currently did not have my phone on me.
I heard the ding of the elevator, I already knew it was the rest of my brothers. I felt bad that I had just left without saying anything. I already knew I should have never done that because he knows where I am, so running away would have made it easier to get me.
I sighed knowing that it was almost that time of year, and I felt sick to my stomach. My mother's death anniversary.
"Anastasia you are in big trouble." Aleksander neared the living room. I heard multiple footsteps so I knew that I was going to face the wrath of all my brothers.
"Sorry, please don't be mad I just panicked," I told him.
"I know but you have to remember that you are not alone anymore. You are lucky Adrik sent Alexei to do something because he is livid." Alek wrapped his arms around me.
"I always knew there was something wrong with Jennicka she has those crazy eyes. They need to send her ass back to Russia." Anton said as he went to the kitchen. Andrey and Adrian had not spoken to me yet they went straight to where Adrik was at.
"Are Andrey and Adrian mad at me," I asked
"No they aren't mad they were just worried, the whole family was worried," Alek said which made me feel a bit better because I did not want them to be mad.
"She knows him, my time is almost up Alek. I don't want him to take me." My voice cracked. He would always take me and bring me back. Memories flooded of what he would do to me, I felt so powerless being tied up.
"We won't let anything happen to you okay," Alek reassured me, but I knew that one way or another he would get his hands on me. "Why don't I show you to your room so you can rest. Adrik told me you had a slight fever." We got up and he took me up the stairs. I hadn't been paying too much attention to the decor and layout of the penthouse.
It kind of reminded me of the one they had back in New York. The only difference is that this one looked more lively due to the lighter shades of the walls and furniture.
Alek opened the bedroom door, and they had it decorated just for me. I wonder when they did this and why they never showed me this penthouse before.
I did as I was told. I got into the king-sized bed with the sage green comforters. I got comfortable under the blankets. I found myself being consumed by the scent of Domenico's hoodie. It smelled so much like him, and for some odd reason it brought me comfort. With his lingering scent, I fell asleep.
Andrey' POV:
Ana had wiggled her way into our hearts. It hurt knowing the pain that she has been through, but despite it all, she kept going. Our cousins instantly loved her, especially since we don't have a lot of women in our family.
When she went missing I thought the worst. Things have been getting heated with the Irish and American mafia. Adrik and Alexei were so mad and worried because there have been multiple attacks by them. Our priority was to keep Ana safe. I think it is time to tell her what our family really does.
"We have to leave to the warehouse soon, Gerald is finally in Chicago," Adrik informed us. We have all been waiting for this moment.
"We can't leave her in the penthouse all alone," Adrian said, to which I agreed. She was in a new place and after the events, it would be best for us not to leave her alone.
"I already called Octavia told her to come over, she said she was bringing one of their other friends," I remembered about Eos she was a girl that Ana had befriended, now the three girls were inseparable.
"They should be here soon. I'll make sure to tell Ana that we won't be home until later," Adrik told us. We all left the office and went to go get changed. I knew that things were going to get bloody fast.
~
It was dark out by the time we made it to the warehouse. Alexei was already here. We made it inside, we were greeted by our men. I was getting anxious the closer we go to the metal door at the end of the hall. You could hear the faint wails and screams coming from within. Alexei. He had gotten started without us. I couldn't blame him.
Once we entered the room, we saw him tied up to a wall. Alexei was playing a game that loved which was throwing knives and hoping they would land where he wanted them to. He had great precision if he wanted he could get to pierce his heart, but where is the fun in that.
"Alexei enough for now. We need him to answer some questions." Adrik said with a menacing smile. The thing is that Adrik never showed too much of his dark side only when he had to. I went to go get our toolbox, which came in handy during these integrations. We were all going to have to have our turn with this man.
"Let's go back in time...Gerald, we are going to need you to dig deep in that tiny brain of yours." Aleksander grabbed a plier examining it as he talked. "How did you met Jelena Vassiliev or Volkov who knows what the last name she used." Gerald was coughing and shaking his head.
"I don't like to repeat myself." Aleksander got closer to him and squatted down. He used the pliers to twist his pinky toe. Gerald yelled in pain.
"Fine." He yelled he was weak, which was our advantage. "Jelena knew a man, nobody knows his real name, but we call him Dr. Korshunov. He told me about her, and how she was willing to give me something in exchange for her freedom and disappearance. My wife always wanted a child and Jelena was going to give us just that. He was our connection to each other. We ended up with her daughter and I helped her flee to Bolivia. That is all I know about her. I swear just let me go." He said in agony. Anton quickly left the room, he had gotten names and places, and just like Alexei, he was good with the computer.
"Who is this Dr. Korshunov?" Adrian questioned. I have never heard of that name in my life. I looked over in the room and Adrik held an expression that I had never seen in my life.
"After we got the little girl, we thought it was all over. That man had followed us back to the states and watched us. He became obsessed with the girl. My wife tried to keep her away for as long as she could, but it was that little girl's fault my wife was murdered."
"What is this little girl's name." Adrian knew the answer but I know he wanted confirmation.
"Anastasia." He whispered. He had gotten weaker from all the blood pouring out of him. After getting all the information we needed from him. I got the gasoline and drenched his body with that. His screams filled the room as Adrik lit his body on fire.
"Let's go home," Adrik told us.
