Calvin planned to meet with Cassandra immediately after his conversation with Ming, but Cassandra was nowhere to be found at school and she would not answer his messages.
Cassandra
Unknown to Calvin, Cassandra was taken to Detective McCarthy's office to be interrogated. The same questions that were asked to Calvin were asked to her and the same answers were given by her. The only difference being the reverse as to how the phone was found.
After being interrogated and arriving at the school's drop of zone by the end of the day's school period, she bumped onto Kai.
"Hey." Kai said as he approached Cassandra.
"Hey." Cassandra replied.
"I'm sorry about what happened at the cafeteria. I had no idea that you and Trey do not get along." Kai apologized.
"No you do not have to. There is no way you could have known. You haven't been around long enough to know just what a little shit Trey is." Cassandra informed.
"Is he really that bad?" Kai asked.
"Yes he is that bad." Cassandra answered. "Please stay away from him, he's a horrible person and I don't want him to effect you." Cassandra added.
"I'm a grown man and I know what I want in life so don't you worry." He smiled and placed his hand on Cassandra's cheek. "Thank you for your worry though. I really appreciate it." Kai said.
Cassandra blushed at Kai's affectionate action. "Yeah. I care." Cassandra whispered as she was absolutely nervous and was not sure of what to do at that moment.
"You didn't objectify when Trey called you my girlfriend..." Kai mentioned.
"Well...you didn't either." Cassandra further blushed.
"May I take you with me to the party?" Kai asked.
"Yes, I would love that!" Cassandra answered and smiled, forgetting that going to the party was bad news bears.
"Then, see you later." Kai winked.
"See you." Cassandra smiled back. After the rather affectionate exchange, Cassandra drove back home and spent the afternoon, absolutely happy and in love. Finally giving herself the time to talk to Castro, and to her father when he arrived late from work.
Earlier in the day, Cassandra and Aluia made a plan. Aluia texted Cassandra's mother; saying that Cassandra would stay over at her house for the weekend, and that she would pick her up, while in actuality it was Kai taking her to Trey's party. Therefore when it was 9pm and Cassandra saw a car's headlights blink twice, she knew that it was time to go. She took with her what looked like a bag with clothes, told her father that she was going to Aluia's house and then rushed into Kai's car.
"You came right on time." Cassandra said as she put her seat belt on.
Kai smiled and blinked. "You ready for the party?" He asked.
"Yes definitely." Cassandra said as she hid her anxiety and sixth sense that told her that this wouldn't end well whilst they rode off to the Pierces' mansion. When they arrived at the Mansion, as expected everything was absolute chaos accordingly to Cassandra's manner of seeing things. A bunch of rich kids' cars were parked outside, where a small group of the partiers were talking smack; about who had the fastest car and how they were willing to street race to prove their point. A bunch of other high school kids entering the mansion, girls wearing stilettos that they could barely balance themselves on and boys hiding their insecurity behind their luxurious jewelry and clothing.
A non judge-mental person would simply move on from the fact that there are indeed people like this, but Cassandra was not such a type of person. She was a kid that lived by a strict set of rules and walked in a straight line, making her see everything outside of that as wrong. Especially those that seemed not to uphold the same morals as hers."Hey, you seem pretty tense." Kai bowed his head to look into Cassandra's eyes.
"Yeah...I've never gone to parties like this." Cassandra responded, looking down in embarrassment.
"I'm here with you and everything will be okay. Just hold my hand." Kai said, stretching out his hand to Cassandra.
Cassandra simply replied by holding his hand and following Kai's lead into the mansion.
The music could already be heard loudly from the outskirts of the mansion, but now they were inside and the sound was deafening. They could barely hear anything else besides the occasional shouting and excited screams from the party goers.
Both Kai and Cassandra were unsure of where to go, when they arrived at what seemed to be the entrance with the huge paralleled curved staircases. Especially because there were already teens dancing and drinking, even though this was not necessarily where the party is at.
However, to their luck or demise Aluia was there waiting for them.
