[A small clearing deep within the thick forest is the perfect spot. The fire is small and growing slowly to prevent smoke from revealing their location. Dark and Vyntage have each hung their hammocks further in treeline so they can't be seen from the clearing, their traveling packs concealed in the brush.]
[With years of experience under their belts, there is little need for conversation or direction as they continue to set up camp for the night. Dark takes the canteens down the hill to refill them at the river while Vyntage lays a couple of snare traps on the animal trails. The pair moves silently, blending into their surroundings with ease.]
[Rays of light shine through the tree branches as the sun starts to set. Dark is tending to the fire, and Vyntage stands to go check his snares.]
Beep beep beep. Beeeep beeeep beeeep. Beep beep beep.
[Dark immediately rushes to unbury his pack from the brush and pulls a small datapad out of the side pocket, as well as a pair of earphones. He tosses one up to Vyntage, who is standing just behind him. The bluetooth connects as soon as the datapad is unlocked, and Dark sucks in a worried breath as a name lights up on the screen.]
Dark: *in a low, hurried voice* Groundhogs, is everything okay? You're a week early on your check-in.
Tyr: I know. We've got a charlie foxtrot.
[Dark and Vyntage lock eyes, and they both listen carefully as Gerrie and Tyr start off by explaining how they can prove Freyr and Mitch are immune to SCPs, and then share the details of how the two brothers were captured by The Foundation.]
Gerrie: We have to help them.
Dark: We will. Send me the code for the tracker you put on the van so we can hunt down the facility.
Tyr: Will do.
Dark: We'll be in touch. Ghost Racers out.
[Vyntage pulls his earpiece out and hands it back to Dark, who trades him for the datapad as he tucks the earphones back into his pack. Seconds later, the datapad buzzes, and Vyntage's fingers swipe across the screen as he quickly inputs the data. The GPS updates with a quiet beep.]
Vyntage: *sucks in a breath* Oh boy.
Dark: That bad?
Vyntage: I don't think it could get much worse.
[Vyntage hands him back the datapad, and Dark looks down at the map.]
Dark:
Vyntage:
Dark: Shit.
Vyntage: Yep.
Dark: What do you think?
Vyntage: We head over for recon and then go from there.
Dark: *nods* First thing in the morning then.
[Dark powers off the datapad and puts it away while Vyntage extinguishes their fire, and the two of them head off to bed.]
[By dawn, the pair is already packed up and on the move.]
[They arrive to the outskirts of the facility by early afternoon and scope out the formidable building. Despite its plain appearance, Dark and Vyntage are no strangers to the horrors that are conducted inside containment facilities such as this one. With only a few hours of daylight left to burn, the Ghost Racers spend their time watching the pattern and rotation of the guards, as well as scoping out potential entrances and exits.]
[By nightfall, they have retreated far away into the woods to set camp where there is little chance The Foundation will spot them. They are sitting close to the fire, finishing off the last of the muskrats that had walked into Vyntage's snares.]
