PERCY
I can't take my mind off of Annabeth. Even as I fight against this seemingly endless army, I take every chance I can to look to her. See if she's okay.
'Percy, duck!' Piper yells. I do as she says, and a dagger sails over my head to a monster coming up behind me.
'Focus.' I say to myself. The quicker we defeat the enemy, the quicker I can go back to Annabeth. I tighten my grip on Riptide, and take a deep breathe. Just a moment. And then I go full force through the crowd. I cut them down before they have a chance to lift their swords. One by one, slowly but surely, the numbers start to go down.
At one point, Leo is by my side. He throws balls of fire at anything that approaches, and while they're distracted I finish them off. It works well until Leo has to go quickly to Jason's aid.
Bianca and Hazel come either side of me and we take on the last of the army together. Hazel only has one good arm to fight with, but does so exceptionally. Bianca, it looks like, is getting used to her piers again. I see her opening holes in the ground, pulling the cavern apart to help us. At one point I see her travel travel just as she's about to be hit by an arrow. She looks surprised when she does.
Hazel let's put a brief cry, but when I check on her, she's back on top. Just as I look back though, an arrow hits me in the chest.
I stumble backwards, and watch as Bianca and Hazel take out the last couple fighters.
Jason, Leo and Piper seem to have finished fighting the same time as us. Everything is silent.
'Oh my Gods, Percy!' Hazel says, rushing over to me.
'I'm fine...' I say, but stumble again. Jason is by my side, and supports me. He leads me over to Will.
'Are they okay?' I ask, dropping to my knees.
'They're...Annabeth's fine.' Will says, looking to Nico briefly, before coming over to me.
'What about Nico?' I ask, but he ignores me. He carefully examined the arrow.
'It's poisoned.' He says.
'How do you know?' I ask, 'you can't just-'
'My dad is also the god of archery. I know arrows.' He says, 'this ones poisoned. The good news is that I can work with poisons.'
'When will I...' I start, but trail off.
'Start to feel the poison?' He finishes for me, 'right about now. It's going to hurt a tonne. But you're not going to die.'
'Great.' I say, before red spots appear in my vision, and I eventually see black.
