WILL
Perhaps against his better judgement, Nico agreed with Piper's idea to split up once we got closer to the Isle of the Blessed.
He knew that it was somewhere within the purgatory place he found Hazel, but that stretched for miles and miles. It'd be far easier and quicker to split up and look. Besides, we found that once we were in the purgatory crowd, it was completely silent, and if we shouted we could here each other.
So we split up; Annabeth and Percy; Reyna, Hazel and Piper; and Nico and I. We each split apart and went in search of Jason.
'How're you doing?' He asks, as we walk side by side through the crowd of gaunt, dead people.
'Huh?' I ask, unable to focus on anything but the crowd.
'You okay? I know this isn't exactly your scene.' He says, and I turn to see him watching me.
'Yeah, I...' I trail off, 'I mean, I'm okay with death. It's a part of life and all. But I've never seen it this...intimately.'
'Yeah, it freaked me out a bit when I first saw it.' He says, 'but they're just people.'
'People doing nothing forever.' I say.
'Yeah, but nothing isn't so bad. It's just nothing.' He says, 'there are better things, but there are worse.' It always surprises me how philosophical he is about death.
'Either way,' I say, slipping my hand into his, forcing him to hold his sword in his other hand, 'You're right. It's not my scene.'
'I was just-' he starts, when we hear a shout.
'Here!' It's Annabeth, 'we've found it!'
