NICO
I can just about manage to open my eyes. The throbbing in my head is still raging, but I can focus a little.
I turn my head and see Reyna on the floor, asleep I assume. And my dad sits by the wall, staring at nothing.
'Dad.' I say in a hoarse voice. He turns to me, and is st my side in an instant.
'It worked.' He says, surprised.
'What?'
'Reyna gave you some of her energy.' He says. Instantly the throbbing gets worse. I try to sit up.
'She'll die!' I say, but I start coughing. It's painful. I bring my hand away and see blood.
'Stop. Stay calm.' He says, 'she took some of my energy. She hit her head, but she'll be okay.'
He sees the blood on my hand.
'I haven't been good to you.' He says, looking down at me. I just stare ahead at the ceiling. I think of Will.
'No.' I say, 'you haven't.'
'I have no defence anymore. I thought I was doing good by you, but I bought you back here.' He says, 'this is on me.'
'So get us out.' I say, 'keep us alive. Fix this.'
'You still have a will to survive?'
'People need me.' I say, 'I can't leave them.'
'You talk about Will.'
'Yes, Will. But others. Hazel. Percy, Annabeth. Bianca.'
'Bianca?'
'I got her out.' I say, 'I got her out and now she needs me. And I have to be there for her.' I look at him, finally, 'just get me out.'
'I will.' He says after a moment.
I turn my head to the right, with the intention of falling asleep again, but I see something. A wrapper.
I use all the energy I have to crawl towards it.
'Nico, what-'
'It's the Stolls. The twins. This came from camp. Percy and Annabeth used it when they were down here. They sent a message. We can do it again.' I say, 'I need paper and a pen.'
'I have neither.'
'Reyna has both. Jacket pocket.' I say. He goes over to her and takes the paper and pen out oh her pocket. He passes them to me. I write.
