"The only thing you have going for you is your looks."

"Dax, We're twins."

"Exactly," he smiled.

Ash pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the annoyance bubbling up in his chest. "And I'm the one with a brain."

"And the one lacking people skills, without any tact, and that sucks at showing any emotion," he was smirking at this point.

"You're doing this on purpose," Ash muttered.

"Maaaybe," Dax spoke in a singsong voice, like he used to do when they were young.

"Some hunter you are."

"And some alchemist you are, playing with things the rest of your guild refuses to touch."

Ashe frowned, "The Moonflowers have to be useful for something."

Dax chuckled, "Maybe you should leave it for Jekyll."

"That's the plan," he said as a smile found it's way to his face. "Anyway, we've kept the others waiting long enough," he picked up his bag and scythe. "Let's get going."

Dax nodded, collecting his things. The pair walked away from the dock and into the city of Trove, heading on a path they'd taken many times to the mountains. They talked the whole way, meeting up with Jackson, Ash's boyfriend, and Roradan, Dax's traveling partner and close friend, on the way out of the city. The group was prepared for the long trip to Aerion, happy to be together again after months apart and all to Eger to see what the future had in store for them.
