Crimson covered the snow. Mitsuki's hand covered the wound on his side and his face was contorted in pain. The sword in right right hand was dripping from the blood of the beast he'd fought. He was trying so hard not to collapse in the snow, but the pain was almost unbearable. What even was that thing? He'd never seen anything like it before. Huge, black, bone stuck out here and there. He'd though it was a bear at first glance, but I just looked wrong. He couldn't let it hurt Lindel or Elias. Why did it put him so on edge? Why had it stirred up an anger he had felt in so long? His mitch-matched eye were still wide. His breath still hadn't slowed.

The sound of crunching pulled him from his thoughts. He looked up, in the direction of camp. There stood Lindel, blue eye shining with worry. He walked towards his injured friend and unofficial lover. "Mitsuki...."

Mitsuki smiled at him, "Lindel, I love you, but don't touch me." He already knew what the other wished to do.

"You're hurt!" The blonde didn't understand. "Just let me help."

The white haired man shook his his head, "No." He sighed. "I'll be fine. Healing me is dangerous."

"How," Lindel snapped, annoyed with the same response he'd gotten since the day they'd met.

"It just is," Mitsuki gave the other a patient smile, his eyes gentle and full of love. "I'll explain one day I promise."

He sighed, that'd be the last of it for the day. He knew the other to well by this point. "Would you at least let me help you get cleaned up and patch up that wound?"

Mitsuki nodded. Lindel helped him back to the tent before getting him cleaned up and steeling in for the night.
