"Who's Phin?"

Sara's head snapped back around to look at Liam.

"Phin?"

"Yeah. Phin. Who is that?"

Sara straightened her shoulders and looked him dead in the eye.

"I don't know."

Liam turned the picture around for Sara to see. "The picture says, 'Me and Phin.'"

Sara ripped the picture from his hands and spoke clearly, "You must have read it wrong." She turned away from him again and continued to look around the room.

The tension in the room was stiff. And Liam felt like he couldn't breathe.

"Why are you lying, Sara?"

She shoved something away from the floor to make a path to the wall.

"I'm not," her voice cut through the air like a knife.

"Who is Phin, Sara?" he almost yelled.

Sara turned around and pushed him away. "It's none of your business."

"Then why am I here, Sara? If you're lying, then how do I know if any of this is true? I'm trying to help you! Why won't you just tell me who Phin is?" Liam was getting desperate.

"She's Phin."

Sara and Liam both spun around to face the doorway. Standing there was Annalise, who had heard the whole conversation.

And she looked furious.

"And this isn't her friend's house, it's hers. She is Persephone. She lied." Annalise's voice was steady and cold.

"She lied about everything, Liam."

Sara threw what she was holding on the floor. "I wasn't lying about everything."

"Well how do we know that?!" Liam yelled. "We trusted you. I trusted you. And you still won't tell us the truth."

Sara sat on the bed, defeated. She took a deep breath.

"My name is Persephone. My parents called me Phin. My parents knew that the Collector was trying to find them, so they destroyed their own house in order to cover up their tracks and all of their life's work. The Collector and his men eventually found them, took my parents from me, and kidnapped my sister."

Annalise crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows. Liam just looked at the floor.

"I promise. Please," Sara begged.

Liam lifted his head when he heard footsteps walk out of the room. Now, it was just the two of them.

"I...I don't know what to believe anymore. I trusted you. Didn't you trust me?"

And Liam walked out as well.

But before he took even two steps, they all heard a loud scream.
