Nic's P.O.V.

Ally Shaw, it's always been her... the love of my life.

Growing up with her was anything but easy. I did everything I possibly could to get under her skin, just to get a reaction from her.

She was feisty, and funny and man could she dish it back. Not only that but she was beautiful, inside and out.

I've always thought this about her growing up but when I got to kiss her in seventh grade, I was a goner and I knew right then and there; I was going to marry that girl someday.

Two years ago we kissed again. Kissing her was unlike anything I'd ever felt before and I know she felt the same way with how she reacted. I was going to pour my heart out to her that night but Asher interrupted us and then she ignored me. She started dating Travis shortly after that and I decided to back away for the time being.

Now that she's single again I have one more chance. I need to tell her how I feel before I lose her again, possibly forever.

Waking up early I went for a long run, I needed to clear my head and I still needed to keep moving for my game that I have on Thanksgiving day here in New York against the Giants.

When I got back from my run, I saw a light on in Ally's room and she was sitting in her window with her song notebook.

I ran over there trying to get her attention. She was so wrapped up in her song lyrics that she didn't even notice me.

I picked up a tree branch and broke off a small chunk. I threw it up, hitting the window. I heard her yelp and fall to the ground.

I couldn't help but laugh at how absolutely adorable she was. She got up quickly and looked out the window.

I waved at her with a big smile on my face as she shook her head and flicked me off.

I jumped on the porch railing and climbed up to the second story. When I got to her window it was already open, "Hi." I whispered.

She slapped my arm, "Nic, are you trying to give me a fucking heart attack." She angrily whispered at me.

"I'm sorry, I was out for a run and I saw you in the window. Couldn't you sleep?"

She pointed behind her, I heard Angie snoring very loudly in bed. "That has been my whole entire night, she's ridiculous."

"Come out here with me."

I could see her wheels turning in her head, "Fine."

She put her notebook and pencil down. I stuck out my hand for her to grab, helping her out the window. She turned around, shutting the window a little ways.

Sitting down next to me I couldn't help but smile. "Hi."

She laughed. "Hi. How was your run?"

"Good, you should come with me tomorrow."

"I'll walk with you, I hate running."

"You run on the treadmill."

"That's different, don't ask me how, but it is."

"You're weird, but cute, so I'll allow it." I nudged her shoulder. "So, How are you doing?"

"Fine. How are you doing?"

I looked at her, "I mean it, are you okay? I'm sorry that Travis was a complete douchebag and treated you like that."

"Honestly, I'm fine. I wasn't really happy anymore and I was going to break up with him anyways, my apartment is a complete mess though. That's what I'm most pissed about."

"He still never should have treated you like that."

"Yeah, I'll be okay though. Thank you for asking, Nic."

She let out a shiver, I moved in closer and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She was tense and then relaxed into me. "So what were you writing about?"

"I'm trying to come up with my next big hit. I feel like I've hit a wall. It probably doesn't help that it sounds like an air raid siren going off in my bedroom though. Good lord, she's so damn loud."

I rested my lips against her shoulder as I laughed. "You could always come to my house and sleep in my room, I don't snore."

"As tempting as that sounds, that's probably not the best idea."

I looked into her beautiful eyes, "Why not?"

"Because Asher would seriously kill both of us and you know why."

"Star, can we talk about that kiss? Now that you're talking to me again."

"I'm sorry I ignored you, I didn't really know what to say to you-"

All of a sudden we heard a window open, "Oh, it's you guys. What in the fiddlesticks are you both doing on the roof?" Clara said as she peeked her head through her window.

"Talking, did we wake you, Clara?"

"No, Angie did. How did you sleep last night, Ally?"

Ally started laughing, "I didn't, so I tried writing and then this guy bothered me."

"He doesn't look like he's 'bothering' you." Clara teased, winking our way. "I'll leave you be. Nic don't let my little girl get sick, better snuggle in closer to her."

"Mom!"

"I'm going."

"I should go in, I need coffee. What are you doing today?"

"Coming over, obviously."

"Obviously." She laughed, looking down with a slight flush tint to her cheeks. "I'll see you later."

"You and Angie coming with the family to my game on Thursday?"

"Well, I would like to see the Giants, I heard they have a really sexy quarterback."

"You hurt me sweetheart but I think you got the quarterbacks mixed up, baby."

She started laughing, nodding her head and rolling her eyes. She never denied it, which made my smile more.

"We'll be there. Bye, doofus."

"Bye, Star."

I jumped off the roof and headed back home. Walking into my house I couldn't help but smile.

"Nice run?" Mom asked.

"Yep."

I went over, kissed her cheek and got a glass of water.

"Do you end all your runs on top of a roof?"

"Not usually, just when Ally's up there too."

"Are you going to talk with her and tell her how you feel?"

"I'm working on it, Mom."
