It's now Monday. Debbie, Jim and Jimmy had to go home yesterday which was sad, I love them to bits. I hear a knock and my mum walks in. "Hi, Bean. Ella up?" asked mum. "Yeah, having her cereal" I said, putting my phone in my pocket. I spot Ella walking out. "I have to get dressed" said Ella. "Let's go" I said. I put her in jeans and a white top. I pair it with white Nike 270s. I brush her hair and put it in a braid. I pack her bag with lunch, colours and copies. I smile and mum smiles. "My beautiful granddaughter" said mum. "Gran!" said Ella. I take a picture and decide to post it to Instagram.

I smile and we get in the car. Mum pats my arm. "She'll be fine, she'll make friends and have stories to tell you" said mum. "I know, I know... I'm just being a worry wart" I said. "As was I when you went to school for the first time." said mum. We get there and I park. Ella looks out the window. "Is that it?" asked Ella. "Yeah, it is. You ready for this, Ella?" I ask. "Yeah" said Ella. We get out, mum helps Ella out. I smile and we walk over. I spot her teacher and walk over to her. "Hi, Miss Smith, this is Ella" I said. "Hi, Ella. Today will be fun, want to say bye to your daddy and grandmother" said Miss Smith. "Bye daddy, gran" said Ella. We hug and she goes inside. I smile while feelings tears gather in my eyes. I rub my eyes. "Oh, bean. She'll be fine" said Mum. "I know. I'm being stupid" I said, sniffling. "No, your a dad. Your meant to feel that way" said mum. We go back to the car and we drive home.
"I can stay" said mum. "Nah, I have to go to the studio" I said. "OK, well Ashley will be over later with Jordan" said mum. "OK, Ella will be excited" I said. Mum leaves and I go grab my guitar and leave. I get to the studio and go inside. "Hey Randy" I said. "Hey, Corbyn. How's Ella feeling with her first day of school?" asked Randy. "She was good, actually." I said. Randy smiles. "Well, the lads are inside" said Randy. I nod and go inside. "Hey Corb! How was Ella?" asked Daniel. "Good. I hope she likes it" I said. "If she is anything like you, she'll never want to leave" said Jack, picking up Lavender. "Hi, Miss Lavender May" I said. She waves. She's nearly 2. Gabbie is in the corner. "Hey Corbyn, Lav... want to give Corbyn his and Ella's gift?" asked Gabbie. "Yea!" squealed Lavender. She walks over with two boxes. "Thank you, Lavvy" I said. She giggles. I open mine and wow, a chocolate egg. "I'll let Ella open her one later" I said. Lavender nods. I smile and we begin to record Look At Me. Once we finish, we have some lunch. I go onto Instagram.

I smile and like her comment. We finish recording and then I head to pick Ella up. I park and walk over. Ella runs out with a boy in tow. "Daddy! Daddy! This is Drayton! His my friend!" said Ella. "Hi, Drayton. Where's your mommy? I assume Ella kidnapped you" I said. "My mommy is over there" said Drayton. I look over. The girl from the Cheesecake Factory. I walk him over. "Hi, you must be Drayton's mum" I said. "Oh hi. Yeah, I am. I just left my job to pick him up and bring him to work with me. God, I hate being a single mom" said Marley. "Your Marley, right? I heard your name where you worked the other day" I said. She nods. "So, this must be your daughter...." said Marley, trailing off. "Corbyn and this is Ella-Mae but everyone calls her Ella." I said. "Where's her mum, if you don't mind me asking?" asked Marley. "Oh, she's in heaven.... she died giving birth" I said, looking away. "Oh shoot. I am so sorry I asked! I am always so nosy!" said Marley. "It's fine, Marley, you didn't know" I said. Marley nods. "If you don't mind me offering... I can look after him at my house? I'll give you number, text you the address" I said. "Can I trust you with Dray?" asked Marley. "You can, I just happen to be in a band and I could get us a bodyguard if I bring them for ice cream." I said. "OK, sure" said Marley. I give her my number and she gives me her number. I text her my address and she rushes away. "Hey, little man, your hanging with us" I said. "Yay! Can we get ice cream? Chocolate" said Drayton. "Sure" I said. We get in my car and I drive to a small ice cream shop. I get Ella strawberry and Drayton chocolate. We head back to my house and I let them play in Ella's room, since it's the safest room. I go make sure everything is normal before I start dinner. I text Marley for anything that Drayton is allergic too. Drayton might have but his only allergic to fish. OK, so chicken and chips then. I call them for dinner and they sit down. I hand them cups with water inside. We eat and they talk about school.
"I miss school, don't wish it ends because their the best years of your life" I said. They nod and once we finish, we go watch movies. I hear a knock on the door and I go open it. "Hey Marley, Drayton, your mommy is here" I said. Drayton runs out and hugs her. "Thank you for minding him" said Marley. "It's fine. As you can see, Ella and Drayton seem like good friends already" I said. "They do. Anyway I should pay you" said Marley. "No! It was my pleasure to mind a delightful boy, his very smart and loves space, as do I. If you need help ask me. I could ring around and try to find you a babysitter? I mean my sister could do it? She's coming over soon but she loves kids" I said. "Oh, I couldn't" said Marley. "I'll ask her and then I'll contact you if she says yes, you can always interview her as well" I said. "OK, thank you, Corbyn" said Marley. Drayton gets his stuff and they leave. I spot Ashley and Jordan walking towards me. "Hey who was that?" asked Jordan. "Marley, she's a mom at Ella's school and I babysat her son, Drayton. I have a job if you want it, Ash?" I said. "Yeah" said Ashley. "Marley needs a babysitter for Drayton while she goes to work and I said you could do it if you wanted...." I said. "I'd love too, I need a job and this one will be fun" said Ashley. "Great, let me text her.... done... OK, she does want to interview you, though" I said. "That's fine" said Ashley. "She's free on Wednesday. I can arrange everything and you two just have to meet there" I said. Ashley nods and I organize a table at a cafe and text Marley the details. "Thank you! She really needs it" I said. "Do you like her?" asked Jordan, shutting the front door. "She's a friend. I'm not ready yet" I said. Jordan nods and they go play with Ella. Ashley puts her to bed at 8.
Jordan rubs his thighs. "So, were you an emotional wreck this morning when she went to school?" asked Jordan. "I was but mum was great" I said. Jordan smiles. "That's good" said Jordan. We watch some movies before we go to bed. They both have their own bedrooms here, so they sleep in there. They leave some clothes over here sometimes. I instantly fall asleep when my head hits the pillow.
