Yamaris:
Today was dedicated to some much needed self-care and I felt no drop of shame for it. Taking time off work was easy for me as I wasn't necessarily essential to the business. I also saved my vacation hours as often as I could for extended vacations with my previous lovers. Now I was going to get the chance to take my own vacations and visit my family. My company had a cap of 180 hours for employees who'd been there less than five years and the hours rolled over. I supposed there were some perks to working for 'the man'.
A Brazilian wax was the first thing checked off my list and I was now relaxing in the sauna. Since I had it all to myself, my towel was off as I laid across the wooden bench. After my 30 minute steam, I was going to move on to a body scrub followed by a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, and a hair appointment. Spoiling myself never felt so good with the recent events that had taken place.
My relationship with Harlem was blossoming rapidly and I didn't mind. We were still keeping it low-key, and liking each other's photos every so often. I didn't want to seem too forward or rush it, but I did want to give Logan the heads up once things became more solidified. Bunny's flame extinguished as soon Rich left. They were both in it for the moment and knew it from the start. It's what I thought would happen with Harlem and I. I wasn't looking for anything special. I wasn't look for anything at all, but I let my guard down enough to want something special with him.
Living without Charles wasn't bad either. I'd been focusing more on things that made me happy like running, cooking, and drawing. I wasn't nearly as good as Logan or any of the artists in his shop, but it was such a good release of energy. I'd almost forgotten how nice it was to live by my own rules. Being a sugar baby was a full time job that nobody really understood. There was more to it that sex in exchange for money. If you didn't have some kind of bond with your sugar daddy, it would go sour quickly. Some of them didn't want anything more than pleasant conversation but those daddies were few and far between.
With my spa and hair treatments over, it was time get some food and relax with a book at home. Bunny was pre-occupied with teaching her music and singing classes this time of day and Hannah was well, Hannah. There were few moments when she actually got a break from her children and those moments were almost always at night. Whenever we did get together, it was for a few margaritas and maybe some pool at a small bar. Hannah wasn't interested in large crowds and I didn't blame her. They were tiring after a while.
I arrived home with my Panda Express in hand and my body feeling a million times lighter. The honey walnut shrimp and sesame chicken tasted great with my greasy noodles and plum sauce. It didn't taste like fast food but it wasn't restaurant quality either. Still, it was enough to satisfy my bad food craving.
About halfway through my meal, the alarm to my car went off and not long after, I heard the sound of breaking glass. I wasted no time slipping into my Nike slides and rushing out of the door, shocked to see the person vandalizing my property. It was none other than Rebecca McLeod. Charles' wife.
"What the hell are you doing?" I screamed and approached her, caring nothing about the bat she was swinging in her hands.
"What does it look like I'm doing? Huh? I knew my husband was cheating but I never thought he'd leave me for you!" She was now swinging at me instead of my car, her words slurred from the alcohol she undoubtedly guzzled before arriving.
