Yamaris:
Once I got in the house, I walked straight to the den to see Logan and Rich playing the game while Julio and Harlem watched. Biyanca was in the kitchen hovering over the stove. "What's up, guys?" I sat down beside Logan and ran my fingers through his growing hair. His tresses hadn't been this long since we were kids.
"We been waiting on you for forever," Julio stood up and walked over to give me a hug. "Biyanca wouldn't let us eat until you got here."
"Don't act brand new 'cause your little crush is here, Julio." Biyanca opened the oven and pulled out baked potatoes. I walked into the kitchen to see the rest of her spread. She had mac and cheese, green beans, and steak and shrimp skewers all ready and waiting for us.
"Thank you for cooking, baby mama." I kissed her cheek and hugged her from the side. It was a relief to come home and actually have food prepared for me. I guess there were some perks to this whole hosting thing.
"Somebody's got to do it! If it were up to them, we'd be eating chips for dinner. They are lazy." She leaned against the counter and wiped some sweat from her brow before fanning herself. I told her to go to the couch and rest while I started carrying the food to the dining room.
"Let me help you, ma." Julio shot up and jogged behind me, quickly grabbing the food out of my hands and taking it down the hall.
"He's fooling you, Yamaris. He just like to eat." Rich yelled out to me and they all burst out in laughter.
"You always hating on me 'cause I got game. Where yo shorty at anyway?" Julio shot back and continued to help me.
"At least he's making an effort," I laughed and came to Julio's defense. "Thank you for helping, Julio." Kissing his cheek, I pulled away and then walked to pluck Logan's ear. "You know better than to let Bee do all the work in the first place."
Logan groaned and paused the game before standing up to stretch. "See what y'all started? I ain't for all this talking, let's eat!"
We all agreed it was time to get our grub on and followed Logan as he led the way to my dining room. Logan and Biyanca sat beside each other while Julio and Rich sat across from them. Harlem and I sat on the ends facing each other and he shook his head when he noticed me watching him. He'd get the opportunity to get slick with me sooner or later, I could see him plotting already.
"Damn, this food is amazing, Bee." Rich exclaimed between bites of his skewer.
"Yeah I gotta give it to you, Bee, this shit flame." Harlem followed as he dug into his own skewer.
"I'm happy everybody enjoys the food but I want y'all to know I ain't cooking with no help again. This baby really has me losing all of my energy." She sat back in her chair and pushed her food around. She didn't have much on her plate but I could already tell she wasn't going to eat much more.
I grimaced at Logan for him to say something and he cleared his throat. "I got you after dinner, babe. I'm sorry I was out all day. Good new is I think I found the perfect spot for the new location so I can stay with you tomorrow."
As soon as he placed a kiss on her forehead, Bee stood up and ran to the small bathroom in the hall. We could all hear her blowing chunks as Logan ran to help her. "I can't even eat hearing her go through that." Harlem wiped his mouth and sat back until the sound of her vomiting was replaced with the toilet flush.
"Aye, we'll be back y'all." Logan led her upstairs while she just held her head down. Poor thing was going through it.
"That's why I wrap my shit up," Julio stated. "I'm too selfish to deal with all that right now.
