A/N: Hey, guys! This is the ending I envisioned but passed on due to timing. This version sets up some of the events and themes that will play out in the sequel, Redemption, better than the original. The first chapter of Redemption will be posted soon. I'm excited to show you all what's next and thank y'all for rocking with me. It means the world 💚
Yamaris:
Only the word numb could describe the way I felt. Tylenol was barely doing its job of relieving my raging headache. My head hit the tub as I passed out, leaving me with a concussion and unable to fly home for a couple of days. Logan offered his spare bedroom to me but I didn't feel comfortable staying there. My parents even wanted me to stay with them. Solitude was all I craved after the news.
The walls were bare with the exception of a medical information board. Bunny sat to my left and Logan to my right as I groggily looked around. I nearly yanked the IV out of my hand trying to sit up.
"Easy there, Mama. You don't need to move too much." Said Bunny. She gently pushed me back and used the remote to prop my bed up.
"You had me worried, Marimar. Don't ever scare me like that again." Logan sighed.
"She just woke up. Leave her alone."
"Whatever. I'm going to get the nurse." Logan left the room and shut the door behind him.
"What happened?" I rubbed my forehead and tried my best to remember how I ended up here.
"You had too much to drink and passed out. Logan called the ambulance to bring you here when you wouldn't answer him."
"Oh."
"Maybe you should take it easy for a bit, you know? Drinking while stressed isn't a good thing." Bunny pushed my hair away from my sticky forehead and smiled.
"I didn't think I had that much. I just wanted to let loose for a bit."
"Good evening, Ms. Cameron." Presumably my doctor said as he entered the room with Logan quick on his heels.
"Hi."
"How are you feeling right now?" He took a look at my chart and then my vitals.
"I'm okay I guess. My head is pounding."
"No worries about that. I can adjust your medicine. There are some things I'd like to discuss. May we have the room?" The doctor glanced at Bunny and Logan before fiddling with my IV line.
"Let's get something to eat, Bunny."
