I'm running for what seems like forever.

I hear Emily and my mom. Am I going the right way?? I hear them more clearly so it must mean I am. Right? Oh gosh who knows?? I'm leaving this horrible place now!! How long have I been gone??? Days? Weeks? Months? Years?? I can't remember things very well. This is so wrong. How could this happen to me. Things like this just don't happen to a person like me. I jump to it. I'm leaving now. I hear the doctor say it's time. Time for what???!!!! What is it time for???!!
I'm almost to the light. I'm almost there. I hear voices more clearly. I even hear those voices I haven't heard since I was 5,6,7,8,9, maybe even 10. Seems like I hear everyone. Is everyone coming to see me?? Things have changed a lot. I hear my dad speaking to my mom. How long have I been gone? My parents never speak to each other anymore. I feel a hand on my cheek, a kiss on my forehead, someone is even holding my hand and another is touching my side. Everyone is here for me. What do they think will happen to me? What are they planning to do?

I get to the light for what seems like a week later.

Everything drops.

Rudy??! Is he waking?!

It's my Emily.
My eyes slowly open.

I can't speak.

Rudy? Are you awake?

I look up at her and a smile appears in my face.

Emily looks at me and kisses me. I love you, Rudy.
