Chapter 4 – That Night

*Niall's POV*

I was ready and waiting for Sam to arrive. I tried to look my best; I did my hair nice and everything. I was feeling sort of anxious; I wasn't 100% sure if she actually liked me like I liked her. I didn't want to make a fool out of myself and ask her out if she didn't.

I just sat on sofa twiddling my thumbs waiting for her and the guys to arrive. It was just me and Zayn at the minute and it was 7:45pm, so were waiting for everyone to arrive. I couldn't wait for Sam to come!  

Then the door, I straight away jumps up with excited! I wondered if it was Sam.  

"I'll get it!" Zayn called.  

I really hoped it was Sam. But sadly it wasn't, and then Zayn walked in with Perrie. My heart sank slightly; I really wanted Sam to be here.  

"Hey Niall!" Perrie said.  

"Oh, hi Perrie" I said glum.  

"Oh what's wrong pet?" Perrie asked seeming concerned.  

"Oh he's just waiting for his new "girlfriend" to come over and he thought it was her" Zayn laughed.  

"Oh bless" Perrie laughed "I'm sure she'll be here soon." 

“I hope so" I sighed.

It was now 8:00pm and Liam, Danielle and Harry had arrived. I was started to feel really worried. I had so many thoughts in my head, "what if she's not coming?", "what if something has happened to her?" 

Then the door bell rang, I went running to get and it was Sam this time! She looked stunning, even more than earlier! I stared at her amazed by how gorgeous she looked!

"Aren't you gonna let me in?" She asked  

"Oh, um yeah coming" I said and showed her in. "Guys this is Sam" I introduced. Then she went and sat next to me on the smaller sofa. Danielle & Liam were on large sofa, Zayn was sitting on the single sofa with Perrie on his lap and Harry was sitting on the other single sofa. 

We were chatting away waiting for Louis & Eleanor to arrive. But Sam was really quiet and sat there next to me watching everyone talk, I felt worried and I think Harry could see that. So then he asked her "Hey Sam, why are you so quiet?"  

"Oh I guess I feel a bit shy" she answered timidly. 

"Aw, don't worry pet we're all nice" Perrie said smiling at her "we don't bite."  

Sam giggled "oh okay then." 

Then the door rang once more. "I'll get it!" Harry said sounding excited. "It's the old man!"  

Then Louis and Eleanor walked in.  

"I ain't that old" Louis laughed  

"Well you're older than me" Harry teased.  

We all laughed.

The guys asked about how I and Sam met. She let me explain and kept giggling through the story. Bless her! It was mainly just me and her talking as the rest had their group conversation. She was really shy with the others but with me she wasn't.  

"Let go somewhere quieter" I whispered in her ear. So I grabbed her hand and lead her to the garden. We sat on the bench; it was a incredibly beautiful night.  

"So you're shy?" I asked.  

"Yeah, just a bit but just with new people" she said.  

She was shivering; I took off my hoodie and put on her, then put my arm around her.  

"Thanks" she smiled at me. 

"No problem" I returned the smile.  

We were both just stared at each other. My eyes were locked on her big chocolate coloured eyes. I moved a strand of loose hair out her face and slowly leaned in for a kiss. Then our lips finally met, it had for filled the longing I had to kiss her since we first met, and could feel the fireworks. Then she slowly pulled away. "Wow!" I said.  

"Sorry, have to go" she said sounding upset "this was all a mistake I shouldn't have come here."  

"What?! What's wrong?!" I said confused because I thought everything was perfect. Then she took off the hoodie gave it to me, got up and left. I was so confused; I don't what I did wrong. I thought that kiss was amazing. Didn't she feel the same? I was so confused! So I just sat there thinking through what just happened.
