"Monster" By Paramore

Wyatt puts his hands together, almost as though in prayer, as he watches my unconscious form. He feels helpless as he watches my body contort and as the darkness tries to take control of it. Around each of my wrists and ankles are chains that rattle with every movement I make. He didn’t want to do this but when I woke up about an hour ago I wasn’t in control, the pitch black eyes made that pretty clear.
Orin had the chains blessed and since they were made from holy artifacts, could keep me in one place. Wyatt has to look away quickly though as he sees sores begin to form on my wrists from the rubbing of the chains. He can’t watch knowing that I’m in pain. He can’t watch knowing that that he can’t keep his promise to keep me safe.
Even from myself.
“How’s she doing?” Orin asks from the doorway, his clear green eyes apathetic.
“Do you really care?” Wyatt snaps with a scowl.
Orin chuckles humorlessly and dips his head. “About her? No, not particularly. But I can sympathize with your situation. I would be just as messed up if something like this happened to my Lila.”
“So you do have a heart.” Wyatt coos mockingly.
“Just with her.”
Wyatt sighs and runs a hand over his dark hair. “What do you think is going on in her head right now?”
“I don’t know.” Orin says with a shrug. “So far she’s been able to fight off its total control much longer than I’ve ever seen a human do. She’s got some real guts, I’ll give her that.”
“Yeah.” Wyatt agrees with a tired chuckle. “She’s definitely got that.”
“So she’s your other half I take it?”
“That obvious?”
Orin inclines his head to the side with a smirk, “Not exactly subtle.”
Wyatt groans as he drops his head. “Do you think I should have told her? Made it easier for her to understand why things have gone the way they have?”
“You’re asking for my opinion.”
“More like thinking out loud.”
Orin gives a quick huff of laughter before crossing his arms over his chest. “I think you should have told her as soon as she stayed the first night here. She can feel something is off between the two of you, something different. The longer you hide this from her the quicker she’s going to think its because you don’t want her.”
“But I do want her.”
“As someone whose felt the call of a mate first hand, I’m not doubting you. All I’m saying is what I know will happen if you wait any longer to tell her. It’s probably why the darkness is trying to take hold of her so fast. It wants to stake claim before you do.”
“What did Lila do when you told her?” Wyatt asks, curious.
Orin smiles softly at the memory. “She took it surprisingly well but she was a bit distracted by the fact that I was threatening to rip her brother’s throat out.”
Wyatt grimaces at him. “Real charmer you are.”
“I don’t have to be.” The vampire shrugs.
I pull on the chains on my arms again making both men move their eyes to me. Wyatt watches some blood trickle down from my wrist and drops his head into his hands. Orin, on the other hand, doesn’t look away from me and instead watches as I begin gasping for air. My eyes open to show endless black pools while black veins pop out from under my skin.
“Well hello there beautiful.”
“Perenni gehennam sanguinem mus!”
Orin chuckles and runs his tongue over his fangs as he looks over at Wyatt. “And you call me the charmer.”
“What did it say?”
“Told me to burn in the hell of my blood. Then it called me a rat. As I said, nephilim, your girlfriend is a real charmer.”
Wyatt glares at him as he gets to his feet. Pointing a finger at my writhing body he spits his words at Orin. “That is not my girlfriend. That is a fucking piece of evil working its way through her body like a parasite!”
Orin doesn’t look a bit impressed by Wyatt’s explosion. Instead his lips slowly start to curl up into a smirk. “Good to see you have some fight in yourself, nephilim. Lets just hope your willing to fight for what you want.”
“My name is Wyatt.”
Orin continues smirks at him as he heads for the door. “I know.”
Closing the door behind him, Orin leaves Wyatt to his thoughts. Wyatt sits back in his chair stationed near his bed, which I’m strung up to. Looking up at the ceiling he looks for any kind of clue on what to do on the watermarked canvas above. When he finds nothing but blank cluelessness before him he lowers his head again.
Turning his hands over he watches the palms light up with a bright golden light, a gift from his father’s celestial bloodline. Clutching his hands into fists he feels his rage build while tears threaten to spill from his eyes. He wanted to protect me. He wanted to do our bonding the right well but how can he when pure evil stands to stop us at every corner?
“I’m going to make this right.” He promises me in a whisper. “Maggie, if you can hear me, please know that I’m going to make this right.”
He has to, he tells himself. He can’t lose me.

I wake up in the familiar landscape of the desert again. Or I guess it’s called ‘the forgotten desert’ if you want to get fancy. The wind whips across my face, feeling hot and stingy on my skin. I put my hands to block it but it only seems to just work away a few layers of flesh on them as well. Hissing in pain I lower my arms once the wind dies down again.
“Okay…” I trail looking around. “What now?”
When I turn my body around I freeze in my spot as I come face to face with another version of me. My evil twin looks just like me only with a few major differences. The hair is pitch black instead of my normal brown. The eyes are completely black instead of my own dull gray. Oh and to top it all off there are black veins popping out from under the pale skin. Not to mention the black drips of blood coming from its eyes, mouth, nose and ears.
Don’t do pure evil kids; it is not a good look.
“See me as you are.” The doppelganger hisses at me. “As me as you will be.”
I feel my heart speed up in my chest and my hands curl into fists.
I guess zero hour is now.
And I have never been less ready.

I feel like I say this everytime but I AM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT! I always feel like an asshole. Heavy on the 'A'. Anyway, I know this isn't very long but next chapter is going to be a probably going to be a bit long due to the fact that its Maggie facing her demons....literally. lol.
Also, I have a girl crush on Haily Williams. I don't think it can be helped.
