"Made Of Stone" By Evanescence
Nineteen+
My eyes open but they are not my eyes. These eyes are black and beyond angry as they glare at the ceiling. My mouth opens wide showing sharp teeth as another unnaturally loud scream leaves my mouth. My hands grip the bed, my finger nails long and black like claws as they tear at the sheets.
“Maggie!”
I snap my head in Wyatt’s direction and snarl at him making him narrow his eyes at me. Moving my gaze back to the ceiling as my body arches off the bed painfully bending in a way that makes bones crack. I stop all movement though and a frown comes over my face as a burning sensation starts in my heart.
It’s burning so hot I feel as though my inside have been lit on fire making me scream sharply. I can’t get my hands to the source of the burn because of the chains on my wrists so I just claw at everything in sight. The walls, the bedposts, the sheets and even my own face just trying to get the wildfire set off in my body to stop.
“Maggie!”
“Don’t.” Tallulah snaps, putting her arm out to stop him from coming toward me. “You’re bond is burning it out.”
I feel my own consciousness start to float to the surface though both the pain and the hold of the darkness. I can feel it gripping at anything it can inside of me just to keep its grasp but the fire is herding it into a spot in my lungs. My body arches again and I open my mouth in a gasp as I feel the darkness move up my throat. It feels icy cold as well as suffocating as it moves up my throat before I scream again.
A black inky tentacle come out of my mouth and attaches itself to the ceiling above. Another few tentacle-like things come out of my mouth and cling to the walls. One almost decapitates Lila but she ducks in time. They crack the drywall with every hit but all eyes aren’t on the tentacles really. They’re eyes are on the mass inching its way up my chest, my throat and then finally out of my mouth. I gag and my eyes roll in the back of my head before finally it pushes its way out to slam itself onto the ceiling.
I fall limply onto the bed, covered in sweat and barely conscious as the black mass writhers on the ceiling above me. Wyatt acts quickly and gets the chains off my wrists and ankles as fast as he can. Above us the black mass is beginning to ripple and a few drops of it start to shower down on us. Wyatt hisses as some of the drops hit his skin and he retreats leaving me half chained on the bed.
“Salt!” Orin yells, having freed himself from her shadows, before throwing a canister at Lila. Lila catches it and starts creating a circle around the area around the bed. “Make sure it’s a complete circle, angel, no holes.”
“Yeah, I got it.” She snaps with an eye roll. “You’d think I’d never done this before. Here, Tully keep your eyes on it.”
Tallulah keeps her eyes on the darkness as it continues to drip down onto the bed and floor. Her hands are poised at her sides, ready to go in case it makes one false move. It pushes Lila back against a wall though, too fast for Tallulah to catch and makes Lila drop the salt, the circle unfinished. When it tries to lash out at Tallulah this time she’s immediately tackled to the ground by Gideon.
“Son of a bitch!” He yells, trying to get to his feet. His own shadows begin to swirl around him while his eyes begin to go black. Tallulah puts a hand on his cheek, getting his attention.
