I was sitting on the couch, my arm wrapped around Josh, when I felt someone enter the room. I glanced up to see...I think his name was Damian. He was looking at the ground, so I smiled.

"Do you need something?" He looked up and glanced at Josh, before nodding and smiling at me. He sat beside us, and sighed.

"I uh, I have something to tell you. I know you don't know me very well, but uh..." he stuttered, and I put my hand on his shoulder. Since the battle ended a month ago, I was feeling a lot more confidant in my Luna/alpha female role.

Yeah, Josh formed a new "pack". Well, not really. Him and Ken talked it over, and they both decided that Josh and I were too powerful to really be a part of Ken's pack since it could run the risk of Josh's wolf trying to challenge Ken They agreed that since Josh's and my friends were basically a pack before Josh went through the change, for real, they could stay together, but still also be a part of Ken's pack. It's worked out well so far.

Damian started talking again. "So, when you were little, your mom and my mom found each other, and they were both wolves. There's a ceremony thing that females can do, I don't know what it's called or anything, but I know it involves a blood pact, and if both females are willing, forms a bond between the two. Almost like they're family. It offers protection to both of them, and it's passed down to the generations to come, so the next line of wolves feel compelled to protect the offspring of the other female.

"I am the son of the woman who your mom made the pact with and I've been looking out for you ever since I saw you and felt the need to protect you. My mom explained why I had that need, and I've always kept my distance, not wanting you to think I was watching. But I've been helping.

"Like that time you and Karen got into a fight? I was there and compelled her to stop. And that time at the mall? Where you saw that shadow, I was following him to make sure he didn't do anything to hurt you. I consider myself your cousin, since our moms were so close." He took a deep breath, and I met Josh's eyes.

Josh told me after the fight who Damian was, and when I thought about it, I realized I've always seen him around every once and a while. When I realized he was a wolf, I asked Josh and he told me everything he knew. About how Damian talked with him one day, telling him who he was, so Josh didn't get upset if he knew Damian was watching over me. I was just waiting for him to come tell me himself so I knew the whole story.

"It's fine, I've always realized you were somehow watching over me because I've seen you once and a while. I'm glad you came to talk to me though," I smiled and hugged him, feeling him smile back.

"Well, I'll leave you guys then," He got up and walked out of the room, leaving me to snuggle with Josh.

So I better explain what happened after the battle.

First, once we buried Ashton, Kain and Trevor and all the others who were dead, we took care of our injured pack, and I got a chance to talk to Josh about Karen.

*FLASHBACK*

I walked up to her, and she turned to me, holding onto her necklace. I crossed my arms.

"So, why are you here?" I got straight to the point. She sighed and her lips pulled down at the sides.

"I'm really sorry about the way I've been treating you and Josh, I Can't tell you how much. I was such a bitch, because my dad's Alpha, Carlo, knew who Josh was, and that you were his mate. I was told by my dad to get close to Josh and distract him. I never wanted to, but he was my dad, you know?

"Anyways, when Josh told me what I was, a witch, at first I didn't believe him, but then I remembered all the times my grama came to visit. How she would spout ridiculous things like me having mysterious powers, and how my dad would get upset and kick her out. She always wore this necklace," she smiled fondly at her pendant.
