It has been four days, since dinner, and Josh kissing me. I know, it wasn't a real kiss, just a kiss on my head, but it still counts for something, right? Or am I just hoping for something that isn't there? I don't know if he likes me that way, and I am trying to put it out of my mind, but lately, I find myself just staring at him for no reason, thinking that I never really LOOKED at him before. I looked at the definition in his face, his sharp jaw and cheekbone lines, and I found myself mesmerized by his eyes. They were a beautiful blue-green color, and I don't know how I never noticed them before.
"What Is happening to me?" I found myself asking me, over and over. I have never felt like this in my whole life.
I shrugged. Oh well. I need to focus.
I was at the mall, shopping for Josh's birthday present. I have been wandering around for hours, not finding anything suitable.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a sign with a necklace on it.
"Just the right Jewelry" the sign read. I walked closer, looking at the things in the window. I saw a necklace with a rose on it, and another one with a butterfly. Wow, these are so beautiful.
Just then, I felt something urge me to look to the left. I looked, and spotted this gorgeous necklace, and I knew that I HAD to get it for Josh. He has always loved wolves, and this necklace was perfect. It had a silver grey wolf on a gold chain, with hints of blue around the ears and feet. I was just staring at it, then walked into the store.
I picked up the necklace, and brought it to the counter.
"Excuse me, I would like to buy this necklace." I told the lady. She looked at me.
"Are you sure? I think it's a little out of your price range." She said snootily. I just brushed it off.
"Yes, I'm sure." I told her. She nodded, and rang it up.
"Okay, the total is $525." She said. I widened my eyes, then handed over the money. She glance at it with surprise, like a teenager wouldn't have any money. She packaged up the necklace, and gave it to me.
"Have a nice day," I told her sweetly, walking out.
I ran to my car, and drove to my house. It wasn't huge, but it was big enough. It would do for what I had in mind.
I called all of my friends, which came to a total of twenty-five people, then called Josh's football friends, which made it thirty-eight people. Wow, my place would be a little crowded, but whatever, it was for Josh.
Five hours Later...
"Okay guys, I think we are ready." I wiped my brow, surprised by how much we managed to get done. There were streamers hanging from the ceiling, and a big sign that said, "HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY!" hanging in the entryway. The food was all set and everything was ready, all we needed was Josh, who was being held up by some of his friends. I asked them to do anything to keep him away form the house, so they probably went to the beach or something. I dialed up Steve, waiting for him to answer. He picked up on the third ring.
"Yo, what's up?" He said into the phone.
"We're ready for you guys, if you can bring him now." He said okay, and hung up. I glanced around at everyone.
"They're on their way. Places everybody!" I shouted gleefully, clapping my hands. Everyone scurried to their positions.
five minutes later...
"Shh, I hear them coming," were the whispers that rang through the house. Everything fell silent when we heard the door opening. Footsteps in the hallway, shadow coming into the room..."NOW!" I shouted, leaping up and throwing the lights on. Everyone jumped up and shouted, "Happy birthday!" and ran up to hug Josh. He was just standing there, staring around the room. I smiled at his bewilderment.
