When I got back to Josh's house, I headed straight to the computer, and went to google. Because the Internet knows everything.

I types in werewolves, and hit enter. I scrolled down a ways, and clicked on a link.

It said that werewolves didn't necessarily need the moon to shift, but there were other ways to shift. They are at their most strongest on the full moon.

They can also half-shift, which is technically shifting without looking like it. The wolf gets its powers, like smell, sight, and taste, but stays human. It also says that they can cloak themselves, which is like, make them invisible or something, even from other werewolves. huh, interesting. I scrolled down a bit, then I saw something that made me freeze.

"A wolf can be dormant until the the person either needs it, or knows about it, or wants to protect something they have or want. If the wolf has found their mate, it is easier for people to discover their wolves, which have normally been dormant up until that point, because if they hear something or see something that has to do with their mate, they can become overly protective and roused. It is not uncommon for a person to go their whole lives without knowing they're a werewolf."

By then I was shaking. Maybe that is what's happening to me. Maybe I'm a werewolf and didn't know it. It could explain the way I've been acting, and why I got angry at Karen. I shook my head.

It could also explain the comment that Rob made. I just don't  know.

I frowned, then made up my mind. I'm going to talk to my parents. Maybe they can explain what's happening to me.

I didn't think to tell anyone where I was going, not even Josh. Because I'm just that stupid.

"Mom, Dad? You here?" I said into the house as I crept in. I felt like a stranger in my own home. It felt so...cold. Dark. There's lots of other words I could use to describe it, but I didn't. I looked into the bedrooms, and I didn't see anyone.

I slowly moved into the kitchen, and there was my mom standing there. I breathed a sigh of relief. I stood up straight, not realizing I was crouching.

"Hey mom." I said, and she started, dropping the pan she was holding. Here face was blurry, but then it cleared.

"Hey honey, how are you? I wasn't aware you were coming home yet." She said, and I got a bad feeling. This wasn't how my mom usually acted. She would have been up and giving me a hug by now.

"Oh, I almost forgot." She said as soon as I thought that, and came up to give me a hug. I stared at her.

"You smell different." I said suspiciously. She shrugged.

"New perfume?" She said, making it sound like a question. I narrowed my eyes at her.

"You smell like...trees. And grass...and dirt." I blew out a sigh.

"Never mind. I cam to ask you a question, but I forget. I just came to grab some things." I lied, not liking this person, whoever she was.

"Now honey, you know you can ask me anything. I won't bite," she smiled, and I swear I saw her teeth glint and elongate before she closed her mouth again. I backed away.
