Whirlwind of trouble

Today is my first role as mayor. I have my second town meeting and it's safe to say I'm nervous. I moved into the office a week ago, so that's all set up and I've been working so hard to make sure I'm on top of all the town paperwork.

I've prepared my notes and budgets and considered all the people's thoughts and considerations. If I want these people to love me, I need to do as they please.

I head downstairs where everyone is waiting, I walk down the middle of the gathering and step up on the stage. Everyone falls silent.

"Good morning Storybrooke" I first announce. "This is my first formal meeting. Last week was just a hello and a little about me but this week I have took some of your suggestions into consideration. I would first like to say thank you for putting your belief into my work. I know I didn't earn this role, as I was the last option given Mr. Gold had dropped out, I would of hoped I'd win this fairly." I state softly. "First of all, the library. I have construction plans to turn the clock tower into a library. The clock will still remain but the ground floor will be fitted with book shelves, and all kinds of genres and ages of books. It will also have a quiet corner for studies, such as those studying for their exams where it will have 3 computers free of use for research or studies. Do I have any volunteers to run the library?"

I immediately scan the room and see a few hands raise. "Sorry, I should mention it'll be a quiet business but we need someone who knows all about books and studies and history." A few hands drop and I'm left with Belle. "Belle. Perfect, I couldn't think of anyone more suited. Could you stop by my office at 4pm this evening please to run through your contract. Thank you"

"Second of all, I am opening a toddler group. It will be held here at the town hall, from 9am to 2pm. There will also be a mother and baby group every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for new mothers or as a little support group if you wish for us mothers to gather around and have a social meeting and discuss nothing finer than our delightful children" I coo and I see a few heads turn and start whispering with a few smiles from the women.

"There will be a new bar in town, it'll be both a bar and restaurant. I believe that's one thing we're slacking in this town, is a nice fancy place to eat." I immediately see granny whip her head my way and I giggle, showing the town I can have a laugh. "Other than Granny's diner of course. That little diner is the heart of storybrooke. This restaurant will be open from 5:00 pm to 2am. For both food and drinks. We will need some waiters, some bar staff and chefs so applications will be open when it is built."

"And finally, for the children of storybrooke and our next generation, we have built a park. I guess many of you have seen, it's right next to granny's, so what will be better than having a grilled cheese while your children play on the parks. Food and laughter will be the heart of storybrooke." I grin shutting my folder. "The park will be open in 3 days time, I look forward to seeing how popular it may be."

"I want to thank everyone of storybrooke for putting your belief in me. I know to some of you I may not have been your vote, but I appreciate all the positive comments I have received during this time." I bow, and hear the first person clap. Emma.

I see Blue walk down the front and stand upon stage with me.

"What a fine Mayor you will be Regina. You are already doing an incredible job and considering everyone in storybrooke." Blue cups my cheeks and places a kiss to my forehead. "I'm very proud of you Regina"

Emma continues to clap, so does her parents and eventually everyone is on their feet giving a round of applause.

"And for my first Mayor request, everyone gets a free tea or coffee to go from Granny's. On me" everyone then begins cheering and I giggle. I watch as they all leave the town hall and I am beyond ecstatic. That couldn't have gone any better. "Thank you Blue. I won't let you down" I peck her cheek but quickly run down off the stage in hopes I can find Emma before she disappears.

"Emma!"

She whips her head around and rummages through the crowd with her parents, Elena and Henry. We wait until everyone has gone and I shut the door.

"How did that go?"

"You was awesome mom" Elena coos and it's still like music to my ears.

I never thought I would ever hear that name coming from a child's lips towards me. I given up the hope of being a mother years ago. That hope died, along with Daniel and it grieved me for so long. I'm finally at a high in my life. I have Elena, who is practically a daughter to me, I have Emma, who is very wonderful and I love how things are going with her. I have snow and ruby who have become delightful friends and this job. I don't think my life could get much better.

I hold Elenas hand and press a kiss to her temple. She looks up to me with a smile. "Can I go with Snow and Henry to Granny's? Please mommy"

"How can i refuse when you call me that?" I softly coo acting all mushy. "Is that okay Snow?"

"Fine by us, David is just bringing the police Station files over right this second, he should be here in a second so we'll wait and then take him to granny's. It appears we having been granny's yet so we need to see what we're missing out on. Besides you owe everyone a coffee."

"So I do" I giggle. "May you do me a favour when you get there. May you ask Granny to put it all on a tab. I will pay the bill later this evening"

"You're not coming with us?"

"No, I have a lot of work to do, I also need Emma's assistance with one of the ...." I look to Emma stuck for words.

"Oh right... that thing... yeah... the file we was..."

"I'm not stupid." Snow laughs. "I'll see you both later" she smirks and takes Elena with her.

We watch as they leave the hall, We wave them off and David is waiting outside. He passes us the files and joins his wife on the walk to granny's.

"You're an idiot" Emma groans, throwing me her sexy dagger eyes.

"An idiot you are going to have filthy office sex with" I giggle, tugging her jacket closer to my body and kissing her. God how I've missed these lips. "It's about time we christen the place"
