"Violet seems lovely" I slowly draw out, starting a conversation with Henry as I bump gently into his shoulder. "She seems very mature, a very nice young lady"
"Yeah... she's... different" Henry blushes, looking back over his shoulder to his mother who was a few metres back.
"Well it's good to be different" I chuckle, looking back at Emma who seems to be looking down at where she's walking. I notice as she spots three drains lined on the ground and she simply walks over two of them and skips the third as she considers it to be bad luck. "That's why I like your mother"
Henry notices how wide my smile is and laughs awkwardly. "You're good for my mom" Henry smiles and it makes my heart melt.
"She's good for me" I grin, I suddenly feel my checks blush red and I soon feel humiliated at how openly I'm laying my feelings out for her son but it feels natural. "So, how long have you been seeing Violet?"
"Vi and I have been together for almost 6 months" he nods with that awkward little smile that resembles his mother.
"And you're taking things slow yes...?" I slowly draw out...
"Slow... what do you mean?" He looks puzzled at me for a moment and then it's as though suddenly you see a bulb flash in his head. "Ew I am not discussing this with you, gross"
"I'm sorry... I thought it would be easier to talk to me than your mother about keeping safe"
"I guess so." He shrugs.
"So... are you keeping safe?" I ask again, quietly and politely to show Henry that I'm not pushing him for anything. "You don't have to answer, I'm just saving your mom the embarrassment"
"That's also true. We have once, and we are totally safe. Mom had me at a young age, so although she really hasn't had 'the chat' she has always drilled it into me to live my life first and have a kid when I'm ready. Besides, vi and I are only 16" he rushed out in a hushed tone.
"You're a smart kid, just ... put a sock on it..." I say quickly and watch as he giggles. "And by sock I mean condo..."
"Yep. I got it thanks" Henry quickly interrupted stopping my sentence.
Emma quickly catches up with us with Elena's hand tucked in Emma's. She brushes her fingertips against mine and takes my hand in hers, interlocking our fingers.
She looks over to Henry who has bright red cheeks and I watch as she frowns. "You okay kiddo? What have you and Regina been talking about?"
"Err..."
"Just a few writing tips for him for his next assignment at school." I quickly state, finishing the subject quickly.
We head over to my place, we decided we would have another family meal today, but this time keeping it small, just me, Emma and the kids.
We arrive at my place and Henry and Elena head into the sitting room to play their phones and tablets while I start dinner. It's getting late so i thought a quick simple garlic and herb pasta bake with side salad would be suitable.
Everyone tucks in at dinner and appreciates my meal, which I'm very pleased about but once everyone had finished. Henry and Elena went to find something to watch on disney+, Elena begged for Snow White because she truly believes Mary Margaret earned the nickname from Snow White and believes she's the real disney princess.
I miss the days where imagination and fairytale was everything. All you had to believe in was a bit of pixie dust and a fairy godmother to solve all your problems. But where was my fairy godmother when I needed her most? But believing was everything. It meant hope, so if ever Elena needs a fairy godmother. I will be it. I will try my hardest to make her problems go away.
I finish clearing away the dishes when arms snake around my front. I hum from her touch and continue washing the dishes as she places sweet kisses down my neck, moving my hair to the side and snaking her hands down to my hips. My head falls back, landing on her shoulder as she pushes her front further against my back and continues marking my neck, making me feel more and more weak at the knees.
"Emma..." I pant as I drop the plate down in the sink letting the water splash around. "Emmy, i need you now..."
"That can't happen Gina.." she whispers into my ear before taking a seductive nibble at my earlobe. "Our kids are in the next room" she husks.
"I like it when you say our kids" I hum in pleasure and turn to face her front. I drape my arms around her neck and lean in slowly to capture her lips. She deepens the kiss my tugging me closer and cupping my cheek, pulling me in deeper and slowly entering her tongue.
"Uhmm..." Henry clears his throat, forcing me to push Emma away for a split second, still feeling awkward when we get caught fooling around despite how much Henry accepts us both being together. "Elena has fell asleep, I thought you may want to put her to bed"
"Thanks Henry" I smile bashfully and he lingers in the door way, I drop my hand from around Emma's neck and squeeze her hand reassuringly. "You're really great with Elena. I appreciate it a lot."
"Talking of bed. You and I should get home kiddo. It's super late" Emma states looking at her watch. It's midnight. Thank god it's Sunday tomorrow because Elena never had a late night like tonight, but today was a special occasion. It was the strengthening of our family to be.
"Or... you could stay over." I shrug, looking to Emma who looks at me confused. "Henry can stay in the guest bedroom. You can stay with me, and I'll get Elena to her bedroom" I suggest, looking to Henry who just shrugs carelessly which I assume is his way of approving. "I can't expect you guys to walk home at this time"
"I don't mind" Henry nods. "I could do with some sleep"
"Okay kiddo, if you're sure" Emma smiles.
"Great, follow me" I grin, heading to the sitting room first and slowly lifting Elena to my arms and carrying her up the stairs. I gently tuck her in her bed and switch off the light, pulling the door shut. "Right, she's out like a log. Henry, I hope you don't mind staying in the guest bedroom, it's our smallest room but I suppose it will do for tonight" I state as I lead him down the hallway to the end bedroom.
I open the door and present Henry to the bedroom. His jaw drops immediately and I immediately assume it's from how small it is. "I know, it's not the best. I suppose if me and your mother become more serious and some day you was to both move in. I'd swap your room with Elena's play room. That's much bigger and Elena will be fine with having her toys in the smaller room"
"Are you kidding?!" Henry shrieks. "This room is huge. It's a double bed, bay window, it's got its own sofa and walk in closet. I don't think it could get much better. I could get used to this" he grins as he jumps onto the bed like it's a hotel room. "This bed is incredible" he kicks his shoes off and looks to me and his mother at the door. "I assume soundproof walls come equipped in this bedroom"
"Erm... your Regina and I won't be doing anything like tha...."
"I'm joking" Henry quickly chuckles, watching as my cheeks burn red. "I sleep like the dead anyway"
"That's true. We're all tired and we need to get some rest. If you need anything, we'll be right down the other end of the hallway. Very last door, just give us a knock. Sleep well Henry and make yourself at home" I smile sincerely.
"I shouldn't need anything. Besides your bedroom is about half a miles walk from this bedroom. I could quite easily make myself at home here. This place is incredible"
"Love you kiddo"
"Love you too mom. Night Regina"
"Goodnight" I quickly leave the room, shutting the door and giving Henry his privacy to get changed and get into bed.
Emma and I quickly head to our bedroom and undress, sliding into bed naked and cuddling under the quilt.
"I could get used to having you and Henry spending nights here..." I coo softly and watch as Emma looks inquisitive at me. "I love the family we're becoming. I like have us all under one roof Emma"
