> nobody's POV <
As soon as Elphias entered the car, his fear scent leaked through. Nicolas immediately pressed the screen dividing them to the people in front. He then released a calming scent hoping this will give the boy a little peace.
"Um... hello sir. What can I help you with?" Elphias asked timidly hugging his backpack.
"Nothing much. Just a couple of questions that you need to answer honestly and do immediately, if possible." Nicolas said eyeing the boy beside him.
"Oh, ok." He said eyes downward hoping this will end soon. Little did he know that the car is already making its way down the highway.
"Umn... where are we going?" Elphias said with worry and panic in his voice.
"My house. What I'm going to discuss with you might be a little difficult here. There's nothing to be worried about. We will just talk. I just have to confirm something." Nicolas said through gritted teeth. This sense of wanting to touch his hand is not really helping right now. Control it Nicolas!
Nicolas stole a glance towards the boy. He seems well for the past four years. I'm just blindly hoping but I really hope he remembers me. He pushed the button for the screen and silence governed the entire ride.
The car pulled up down a parking area of a massive building going up several floors. As they disembarked from the car, Elphias didn't know that they were convoyed by a couple of black cars. Oh my god! Please don't let me die!
Nicolas saw him walking on a snail pace behind him. "Let's go, Elphias." Nicolas called out to him irritated not knowing he had accidentally used his alpha-voice causing the people around him to flinch.
Elphias shoot up from his reverie as if he was electric shocked. Now he knew that this person is an alpha. His knee buckled and he fainted from shock.
Upon seeing what Nicolas had done, he looked behind him expecting Elphias to still be on his feet but then saw him fainting. The guards had caught him by the arm.
Sigh. Nicolas what have you done?
"Get back." He told the guard clutching Elphias. He then carried the boy on his arms like a princess. He's super light. If you are the real one, I'm really gonna fatten you out. "Go ready the elevator and be on standby." Five of his trusted guards went with them up to the penthouse.
As soon as they arrived, "Leave his bag by the sofa and don't disturb us until I said so." He then placed Elphias on the wide sofa and covered him with a duvet.
"Yes, your highness."
"And don't call me that way when he's around. He doesn't need to know yet."
"Yes, Sir." Then they're gone.
"Kuro, bring me his file." He said as he sat by him on a loveseat.
As he waited for Elphias to wake up, he read through his files once again. Confirming that this one might be him. His fated pair that he accidentally found four years ago on a trip here at the city searching for a place to start his business in. The fated pair that he then approached as if pulled by an invisible string and talked to without prior topic to discuss. The smile that he longed for and the heat of his hand on his when he shook his hand for the first time. His features before has not change that much except for his eyes. His eyes that once was filled with happiness and joy become sullen and deprived. His file said that he had a car accident four years ago together with his parents and that he's the only one that survived. By then, he was in the care of his relatives but after he entered high school, he managed his life on his own. He's so brave, this guy. I really hope you are the one I've been searching for Elphias. All this time, all my efforts are for you - my business, money, my title and even my entire being.
