Chapter 26

Little note: Sorry for the late chapter, let's hope I can publish more lol got some ideas as well. Also, reminder I won't be writing any lemon or smut since I really suck at that so sorry :( Maybe in another fanfic, but this one is just maybe slight make out, but nothing too detailed hehe sorry Levi stans ;)

After Levi finally took the painkillers, it helped him fall asleep while you played with his soft silky hair. You sat on the bed admiring his features but then, there was a knock at the door. You got up to open it, and saw a black haired soldier holding a stack of papers.

"Good evening miss y/n, Commander Erwin had me drop these for Captain Levi. It's some reports from the expedition and some interior police business"

"Oh I see, I'll take them, thank you"

He placed the sheets into your hands and saluted. He walked back and you closed the door with your foot slowly. You placed them on Levi's desk and made yourself comfortable on his chair. You tied your hair and started signing and looking over the papers since you were the Captain for now. You shifted your gaze over to Levi once, seeing he looked peaceful and was fast asleep. You watched him take short breaths and his chest raise up and down. He was still a bit injured and the blood loss was effecting his breathing pace. You sighed and continued working.

About two hours later, someone knocked the door. You sighed and moved the hair from your face and spoke.

"Name and business"

"Y/n, it's me Hange"

You smiled hearing her voice and got off the chair to open the door. You pulled it open and saw Hange holding a tray of food. She walked in and put the tray on the side table.

"Thought you might be hungry, you didn't come for dinner"

"Oh, I was so concentrated on finishing Levi's paperwork I forgot"

Hange patted your shoulder.

"Come on, eat and take a break, don't overwhelm yourself you aren't completely healed anyways"

"Yea, I'm almost done anyways, being Captain isn't easy"

"Right! I wonder how Levi stays so calm"

You both giggled at the comment and then heard Levi's quiet voice.

"You're both so noisy"

You and Hange turned your heads to see Levi laying on his side staring at you two with a tired, but straight face. Hange walked towards the bed. She ruffled his hair lightly.

"Ahh Levi you're finally awake! I can't wait to see our Captain back in action soon, so eat up, I bought enough food for both of you"

"I could kick your ass right now if I wanted to"

"come on Levi, cheer up! I'll leave him to you y/n, make sure he doesn't starve!"

You covered your mouth in amusement and walked Hange outside the room.

"don't worry Hange, he's in good hands"

You closed the door and saw Levi sitting up and touching his bandaged leg. You sat beside him on the edge of the bed.

"Look, it's not bleeding as much anymore Levi, I say in a little while we can take the bandages off"

"tsk, how long is 'a little while'"

"Don't be so impatient Levi, your leg will be stronger than ever after this"

"it better be, I got some asses to kick"

"oh really? Like who's? Lewis?'

You started laughing and Levi rolled his eyes.

"You're not funny y/n"

"you have no sense of humor Levi, also it's Captain y/n"

Levi widened his eyes and then a small smirk plastered on his face.

"Somebody's getting a little confident don't you think"

"Being the captain isn't even all that"

You crossed your arms and gave him a side eye after saying that.

"Oh? Your red eyes and dark eyebags don't say that. Did a little "homework" tire you?"

He said in a very sassy tone, and you were stunned at how observant he was.

You couldn't help but smile and then got up to grab the tray of the bread, soup and some apples. You gave Levi the bread and you two ate in silence. You couldn't help but yawn, and all you wanted was to get a good night's sleep. Levi moved a strand of hair from your face and tucked it behind your ear.

"Get some rest, I'll finish the rest"

"No, don't worry about it, I'm basically done anyways"

"I'm not worried about it, I'm worried about you"

You gave him a soft but tired smile, and put the tray to the side. You didn't want to argue with him about some stupid paperwork so you got up, and changed into your night clothes in the washroom. You cleaned up Levi's desk a bit, and left the last few sheets on the desk to complete in the morning. Levi shifted over and you laid yourself beside him wrapping your arm across his chest. You could feel his chest moving up and down and you breathed in his scent, feeling comfortable and at peace. Before you knew it, your eyes closed and you were sleeping.

"sleep well y/n"

The next morning Levi was tired of bedrest so you gave him a newly wrapped leg so he could at least walk around. He went to his washroom and started getting ready in his uniform, and you went to your room but took yesterday's paperwork with you.

After cleaning up your own leg you saw that the injury needed some air, and you should take off the bandage for a bit. You took off your pants and sat on the floor with your legs out and changed your shirt. You brushed you fingers over the damaged skin and dried blood, when suddenly someone knocked the door. Before you could say anything they opened it. You widened your eyes and saw Levi step in. Basically, you had forgot to lock the door and were sitting on the floor with nothing but a white shirt and underwear. Levi was stunned and you caught a little blush on his face. He gritted his teeth and looked down about to close the door.

"brat"

He closed the door and stood outside. You face palmed and then also giggled at his reaction. You put some cream on your calf and then quickly put on your uniform pants, and belts. You opened your door and saw Levi standing beside the door leaning on the wall with his arms crossed. You giggled at his straight face and spoke.

"You can come now"

"ever heard of locking your damn door, what if it was someone else that came in?"

"well they sure would've seen a sight!"

Levi closed the door behind him and held your face lightly from your jaw.

"The sight's only mine to see"

His words made your stomach do flips and you smirked liking what he said.

"whatever you say Captain"

"what? gave up on the job already?"

He smirked and let your face go, now crossing his arms.

"No, it's just someone here hated feeling useless"

"what can I say, I am captain for a reason"

You poked his chest lightly and laughed. You both went to the mess hall for breakfast and talked with your squad while eating, it felt like it had been so long.
