Chapter 37

Staring into his eyes, you noticed how the usually grey colour, had become more tinted, soft, and had a shade of blue. You shook your head and then put your hands on your gear handles again. Taking a deep breath, you looked up again and tried to decide if this was a trap or not since people should've shown up by now if it was a trap. Yours and Levi's gear was slightly broken, but even if it wasn't, there was no stable place to hook it onto, to get up. Levi fiddled with his gear handle and spoke.

"If some runts do decide to show up, we can use our blades so prepare for combat, only strike when you need to."

"But what if they have-"

Suddenly you both heard shuffling of feet, and people taking steps from above. Both of you looked up quickly, preparing your blades in your hands. You heard a familiar voice speak.

"There they are."

Two heads looked down at you both and it was Erwin and Mike. Thank God they were here. You smiled seeing them and Mike shot his gear hook down into the hole so you and Levi could both get up. You smiled at Levi too and then started climbing up the rope with Levi behind you. You grabbed Erwin's hand who held it out to you and stood yourself up. Cleaning the dirt off your shirt, you looked around once again and examined the whole area once more. Levi got out too and you all looked down at the hole. Mike turned to you.

'y/n, we sent you to give us the signal, not to get time alone with your-"

"MIKE"

Mike chuckled and when you looked at Erwin he pretended he wasn't listening. You facepalmed and then noticed Levi fixing his gear using some of Mike's gear parts. He also offered to look at yours so you agreed. Erwin spoke.

"I guess they use this to kill anyone that enters this building, but nobody is here yet so they probably don't get that many people trespassing."

You turned to Erwin.

"What about the man you left behind?"

"We left him in a small alleyway, if we don't need him he'll bleed out anyway."

You nodded, and Levi handed your fixed gear back. After putting it on you all stood in front of the basement door, it was big and covered in a ripped carpet-type cloth. You bent down to move it, but sensed a weird feeling. You turned your head and saw Levi, Erwin, Mike hold their blades out, and looked at the door you all entered from. Mike turned to you.

"We heard something, people are probably coming."

Levi was about to step out of the door when someone came flying in with some type of gear, and knocked him over, landing in front of Erwin and Mike. Mike and Erwin stood with their blades out beside you, Mike gave you a side eye signalling to stay still.
Before Levi could slash the man, at-least 15 more men came flying in from the shattered window and broken door.
It was a huge mess, Levi fighting at least 10 of them at a time slicing and killing everything that moves. Erwin and Mike discovered a few more men outside and defended Levi as much as they could. You took your blades out and stabbed the man in front of you as much as you could, until he fell to the floor. Before you could turn around, you felt a hard pain behind your head and before you knew it, your body hit the floor losing consciousness. All you could hear was the slashes of blades and your comrades muffled voices.

i've been in such a bad mental state near the end of may and couldn't focus on this story, it's mid summer now and i do wanna conclude this story with a few chapters, so here's a short one for now. thank you all for the everlasting support and patience, you guys are the best and i'm so glad you enjoyed this story :)
