Chapter 15

The next day.

You woke up and got ready as usual. Your legs hurt from the combat yesterday. You put your hair in a ponytail and put on your uniform. You stepped outside for breakfast and realized you were early. Only Levi sat at a table drinking his tea. You walked up to the table and sat across him.

"Good morning Levi, hope you slept well"

He glared at you. You were confused. He spoke.

"You didn't come to help with paperwork, yesterday doctor"

Oh shit. How could you forget that? There's no way. You internally panicked at your foolish behavior and then remembered that Erwin said something about nobody having paperwork. You were about to defend yourself when Levi spoke again.

"Oi brat, I'm just kidding. There was no paperwork yesterday. You should've seen your face"

You opened your mouth slightly at his stupid effort at making a joke. He knew how seriously you took your job.

"Very funny Levi looks like someone slept well"

He put his cup down after drinking his tea in his unusual way.

"I slept peacefully knowing I won against you and proved you wrong"

You rolled your eyes.

"Pfft, as I said I didn't actually think I can beat you-"

"Tch doesn't matter, you still said it"

You smirked.

"Levi, how's your cheek?"

Levi looked at you in annoyance.

"You're enjoying yourself aren't you"

You covered your mouth and giggled quietly. He was too easy to mess with. Erwin walked in and sat beside Levi. He smiled at the two of you. He spoke.

"I see Levi looks a bit happier today"

Levi rolled his eyes.

"I always look happy Erwin"

You laughed at the sarcastic comment and Erwin smiled. Slowly all the cadets filled the mess hall, and everyone ate. Hanji and Mike were also sitting with you guys. After eating, Mike left to train cadets, and you, Hanji, and Levi followed Erwin into his office. He told you all to sit, so you and Hanji sat on the two chairs in front of him, and Levi sat on the couch. Erwin put his hands on the table and started to speak.

"The survey corps are invited to a huge banquet dinner in Wall Sina. The King has invited the leaders from each branch of the military, like the military police, and garrison. I got the invitation, and am allowed to bring 3 of my most important and trusted people with me. You three will join me at this banquet, which will kind of be like a party I guess. It will be located in a big club in Wall Sina. We might have our differences with the Military Police and such, but I trust you three to make me and the Survey corps look good. You and I will be the face of the Survey Corps. I trust in you. We have to go the day after tomorrow, so be prepared. It is a formal gathering, so look your best. That is all. Any questions?"

Hanji looked super excited, but you were nervous. You'd never been to a party, or any sort of thing like that, you were going to go on a date but see how that turned out. This was nerve-wracking for you, but you couldn't tell them, that's embarrassing and childish Like you could fight titans but not go to a party with other higher-ups? And you didn't want to disappoint Erwin. You had to do this, plus you have Hanji to help you, she looked experienced with this stuff. Levi Hanji and Erwin were looking at you, and Levi snapped.

"Oi y/n, we're talking to you"

You shook your head and realized you didn't listen to what they were saying because you got lost in your thoughts. Hanji squeezed your shoulder.

"y/n, I know you're nervous, but we will all be there, trust me it won't be as bad as you think, it'll be fun actually! A day for us to get ready and act all formal and all, no blood and dirt!"

Levi rolled his eyes,

"Tch, sitting around having small talk with some stuck up pigs isn't my definition of fun"

Erwin sighed and Hanji looked at Levi.

"Levi, lighten up a bit! At least make it good for y/n, this is her first time! y/n don't stress, you can handle this night okay?"

You nodded and Erwin dismissed you three. You and Hanji went outside to train cadets in the obstacle course, while Levi had private training with his squad. In the evening, Levi wasn't in his office, so you did all the paperwork, and left. The day passed, and you were in your room changing to go to bed. Someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it"

"y/n, it's me Hanji"

"Come in"

Hanji came inside and sat on the bed. You sat beside her. She looked very excited.

"Y/n, since this, might be your first party, and it's very important, why don't you and I go to town to buy dresses and jewelry! I have dresses, but they wouldn't fit you, so I will take you to town and we can shop! It'll be like a girls' day out!"

You smiled at the thought. You didn't have any formal dresses, since you never needed them. You gave Hanji a smile and replied.

"That would be amazing Hanji, thanks"

"Good, I'll see you tomorrow then y/n, we have a long day ahead of us!"

"Goodnight Hanji"

Hanji hugged you and left the room. You crawled under your blanket and went to sleep.
