Trust (Levi x reader)

Chapter 39

Your ears rang, silence. There was a gunshot. Your eyes were closed, but you opened them, confused on how you were still alive. There he was. Levi stood with his back towards you, the gun facing the boss. Blood speared through everywhere. All the other men were in shock, confused on what to do next. The other men held up their guns towards Levi. Daniel spoke.

"How the hell-"

Levi rolled his eyes. "You think you can make a magical potion to hypnotize me? Tch."

"Don't shoot or the lady goes down first." One of the men blurted.

You pulled out your small hand gun that Levi gave you in the start, a  and shot 3 men in a row from behind Levi. That was easier than you thought. Erwin and Mike, along with 3 more officers barged in from the roof, and there was chaos. The men had no unity without their boss, and could not operate smoothly, making it easier to kill. You got behind Mike and reloaded your gun, when more of the military police entered. The shooting stopped and you threw your gun and ran to Levi. He stood there frozen, looking at the body of the Boss. He was still alive. Levi walked towards him and knelt down beside his body.

"Your dad was an insane psychopath. I killed him because he turned our theft jobs into murders. I thought killing him would end your sick group but it seems like insanity runs in your blood. Tell your old man I said fuck off."

The 'boss' replied, with heavy breaths.

"You betrayed him."

Levi scoffed. "No, he betrayed our rules."

You listened and felt like you were the only one surprised that Levi was with them at one point. Did everyone else know?  Your thoughts were blurry and you brushed them aside. The police dragged the bodies and the weapons, examining the scene. You grabbed Levi's shoulder and turned to him. To your surprise, he had a blank expression. You were confused.

"Levi...?"

"What."

You were stunned. What was up with him.

"Um, are you okay?"

"Yeah, i'm fine why do you ask?"

There was no way this was happening right now. Levi stared at your blank expression, then walked away. He wasn't upset, nor angry, he was expressionless. A moment ago he was filled with rage, what happened? Mike grabbed your hand and took you outside, following behind Levi. You looked at Mike for an answer, as he had seen and heard Levi's attitude. Mike gave you a worried look. "Let's get home first."

When you were finally above ground, at the surface, you realized how much you missed the sunlight. The underground city was a hellhole, Levi had to be so strong to get past that time of his life. You kept thinking about him, his attitude, his reaction. Something was up. Did you do something? No, he would've showed frustration or any emotion. You sat in the carriage, Mike beside you and Erwin and Levi across from you. Erwin looked back and forth from you and Levi.

"Is something the matter y/n?"

You moved your gaze from Levi to Erwin.

"Is Levi acting strange to you?"

Mike and Erwin stared at Levi, and he had no change in expression nor movement. Erwin raised a brow.

"There is definitely something wrong."

Your heart raced at his words, and all you could do was grab Levi's hand. To your surprise, he pulled it away. Mike and Erwin were stunned.

"L-levi.?"

Tears formed in your eyes and you cried. What in the world happened to him. You looked up at Levi again, as Mike rubbed your back. Levi had turned his head to look at you. You saw his lips quiver to say something. But then he stopped.

You had to fix this.
