Chapter 10

BENJAMIN POV
MISSION NIGHT

Causing us to turn abruptly turn and face him. I step towards him proving to him that I definitely did not accept his role here.

"I wasn't going to let you ruin this for her, even if it costs me my job!" I answer him.

"Well dear Benjamin, let me tell you something, her mission is a waste because Agapov isn't there, and she's about to realize that any second now. And as for your job, what fun will it be to fire you when I can just watch you know, I am you superior every time you walk into this very building." He walked close enough for him to whisper the last part.

Gritting my teeth in anger I make my way to the tech room to attempt to stop them from giving the order, but confirmation had been given and she was about to shoot the person she thinks is the killer of her parents.

"No! Stop! Cancel the order, CANCEL IT!" I yell into the room as we sprint to try to save a man life.

"DO NOT TAKE THAT SHOT! DO NOT TAKE IT!" the same person that had just given her the go-ahead now takes away her dream almost fulfilled.

"Why the hell not this fucker deserves it after all he's done." she slightly yelled, and I would agree with her if the person she was aiming at was actually Agapov and not someone else.

"Order from up top!" they replied to the command given from me.

I internally thanked them for not mentioning my name, but seeing as Kace is in the room with us they must have assumed it was from him, even if it was.

"Who the hell is trying to protect this fucker?" Adria asks, taking the chance Kace leaps from behind me to announce himself to her.

"I am." he responds to her question as if he was proud of the work that he's just done.

"Abort the mission. Come back to the command center, but do not under any circumstances get caught. I dont need to remind you NOT to pull the trigger." He finishes ordering her.

"I don't take my orders from you Kace!" she stood her ground which made me proud of the woman she had become.

"No you don't, but in this moment I have more authority then all of your superiors, don't I Ben??" It irritated the hell out of me how he just ripped he bandaid right off.

"I don't give a damn, I'm taking the shot and you can fire me or not Benjamin!" she made her position know.

She went quiet and I guess that she had finally realized that it wasn't Pavel she was aiming at. "Come back Adria we can talk about this...." I try to reason with her.

"I'm coming...... but as soon as I reach inside I'm going to take my had gun and shove it down your throat Kace." She threatens Kace, but he doesn't look affected as he chuckled and replied, "Can't wait!"

After the coms were cut Kace turned to me, "Follow me, Miller." seeing as I didn't move, he yelled, "And that's on order!"

I followed him to his office once we entered, he picked up the phone and told Agapov to come here.

"Does Agapov work for you? Or do you work for Agapov?" I asked.

His eyes turned cold, ready to kill. Leaving the side of his desk where he was on the call he came closer to me.
