Chapter 13

ADRIA POV
(present time)

It's been an hour, and all I've done in that hour is look up at the ceiling wondering, what the hell am I doing in my life? Laying in the arms of the man that had hurt me by helping the killer of my parents.

I move out of his arms, and I head to the bathroom, not before taking his phone. Let the mission begin.

"Fuck, ok, passcode....." with all the planning I hadn't actually thought of a way to unlock his phone, but hey how hard can it be?

My birthday?

His birthday?

Wrong

My mission night? What no it's not that recent, everything in his life doesn't revolve around you, Adria.

Ok think hard, everything can't have been done for nothing! The day we met?

His phone unlocks, a small smile prides my face, he never forgot. I take the chip and I install it. This chip will help us get the location of Pavel, the next time they are on the phone.

I go to his contacts and I set the tracking to Pavel's number, all his other contacts, and any call that he gets. Whew, it's all just a matter of time now.

"Adria, you in there?" Kace asks on the other side of the door, Fuck his phone, you got this.

"Yeah, I just..... I'm using the bathroom I'll be out in a few." I lie, but I hear his retreating footsteps and I calm down and turn his phone off. When I open the door I see him laying down with his back towards me. I slide his phone under the bed and I get in with him.

He turns, aware of my presence, "Come, I want to get back to sleep." He stretches his arms for me to get in. Reluctantly, I do so not wanting to raise suspicion. "I'm glad to be here with you right now." Kace whispers as he places a kiss on the top of my head.  "Me too...." I manage to say, "Night love." He says as he drifts off to sleep.

While I on the other hand can't, guilt eats at me making me squirm in his hands. He feels it and rubs my back in his sleep calming me down. Eventually, I drift to sleep with one thought on my mind, it's all going to be worth it.

"Adria no run!!!" My mother yells as she has a gun to her face, on her knees, with my father's dead body on the floor next to her in a pool of blood. The sight scares me, making it impossible for me to execute her command.

BANG! The gun goes off causing my mother to drop dead next to my father. Leaving me orphaned.

"MOM!!" I shoot out of my nightmare with hot tears streaming down my face. Kace comes out of the bathroom due to my sudden yell. He runs over to me trying to assess what has happened.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" He pulls me in.

I sob into his chest, not wanting to be alone with these thoughts and feelings. Kace rubs my back sending calming waves into my body. "My-my-.......p-parents..... their deaths I saw it all over again......" I choke out through my sobs, my heart clenching with the memories that I had pushed down.
