Chapter 16

I woke up and it was dark again. I think we slept through the day. I was alone in the big bed Kace was not there.

I took my cell and saw a message from Kace telling me that he went out to fix the issue with Pavel and the there were clothes for me that he had bought in his closet.

I hoped in the shower and memories of yesterday and this morning, I smiled at them.

After the shower, I went to his closet and found a dress is was short. I didn't find any underwear, I rolled my eyes knowing the reason why. I decided to not wear a bra either.

When I got down I went to the kitchen and looked for something to eat. I warmed up the food and started eating. I heard Kace from a distance he sounded like he was on the phone. Or maybe talking to someone.

He came into the kitchen and smiled at me.

"Hey, when did you wake up?" He asked.

"Not that long ago."

"You look good." He scanned me and sat next to me. I continued eating and he watched me. Creep! "I would greatly appreciate it if you could stop staring at me as I eat."

"Now that I have you I'm going to soak up all this because something may change that would no longer allow me this view."

His answer confused me but I didn't give it much thought. Then I remembered something else.

"Kace your father! You were supposed to go visit him!" I panicked.

"Love calm down, I spoke to Laura and she said he is doing much better." That calmed me down, I didn't want Kace to not have a moment with his father if things got that severe.

My phone started ringing and I picked it up Kace was getting himself some food from the fridge so his back was towards me. It was Emily, although the reason why I didn't know.

"Hello?"

"Adria are you with Kace right now?"

"Yes..."

"Listen I need you to stay calm as I tell you the following things.."

"Alright."

"We followed the lead to New York looking for Laura Davice. Turn out she dead! And has been for the last three years. We then went back to the so-called phone calls that Kace was having with her and the calls were all located in Langley both ends were about ten miles from each other."

"Oh..."

"He's been lying, it was Pavel the whole time!"

"Really?" I asked, Kace turned and flashed me a smile and I did the same thing, not wanting to look suspicious.

"Ok I guess if you want doctor I am free tomorrow at three in the afternoon... we can go over what you found... hopefully it's nothing too life-changing!"

"Ok, I'll tell Mickey and Hames."

"Alright, goodbye doctor," I said and then hung up.

"Is everything ok?" Kace asked.

"Yeah, just my doctor, I went in for some tests and the results for them came back and he wants to talk about it." I sighed and rubbed my temples.

Kace sat down and looked at me with worry and to think that I was ready to abandon my search for him. This sick manipulative son-of-a-bitch, Kace you just started a war and I'm going to finish it one way or another Pavel will die by my hands, and that is a promise.

"Em?" I call out when I step into my apartment.

"In here." She calls back.

I plopped down on my couch exhausted mentally.

"Hey....." Mickey came and sat down next to me. "I'm sorry..." he tried to comfort me.

"For what it's not your fault that Kace is a pathological liar and I keep falling for it every time." I looked at him.

"Ok lucky for us the phone is still active and the trace can still happen," Hames said as he and Em walked into the room.

"We can set up a mission and we can catch Pavel," Em announced crossing her hands, she looked the way I felt inside; pissed the fuck off.

The computer beeped notifying us that Kace and Pavel were on a call.

"Well?" Pavel asked.

"I can't ok, she agreed to back down, and besides if she does become a threat I'll deal with it!" Kace responded.

My heart sank and I walked out of the building, the afternoon breeze hit the hot tears rolling down my face. Normally I wouldn't be the kind of person that cries over words, but it's something in how he said it.

I always knew that Kace would kill me to protect his precious deal with Pavel but I thought that maybe things would have changed seeing as to how he wanted us to start all over yesterday.

I hated the fact that I was stupid enough to let him back into my life, into my heart. There was no doubt I loved Kace but love doesn't always concur with everything.

"Hey....." Hames said.

I quickly wiped my tears then turned to face him.

"We're going to catch him and you'll see that no harm will come to you." He said determinedly.

"The man I fell in love with just said that he will kill me off I become an issue. I don't care if harm comes to me. I'm taking them both down with me!" I assured Hames.

"And I'll be right by your side."

"Let's make this son of a bitch pay for all he's done." He stretched out his hand for me to grab, we walked inside and Emily had a smile on her face.

"We've got a location!" She announced.

I know I'm the worst for not uploading in months but it's only because I had no inspiration
