6: "I have something to confess..."

Suddenly a stray cat jumps up on the table and sits directly in front of you. Startled by the suddenness, you scoot back in your seat.

'I'm sorry little guy, I don't have any food.'

The cat stares at you and you start to feel a bit uncomfortable so you turn your head but still take glances at the cat.

'Geez. I know animals stare at people, but this feels a whole lot different.'

"I'll explain," the stray cat says sitting down in front of you. Your gaze shoots back to the cat and you look at everyone who just looked at each other as if nothing happened just now.

'Nobody reacted to that at all... I must be tired, did I imagine that just now? Wait... is this cat even real?'

You clear your throat and scoot closer, trying to act naturally in case this was all just a sleepy illusion. Lifting your hand, you poke the cat on the chest.

"Hey! Don't go fondling me!" The cat grumbles. You quickly retract your hand and fall backward on the floor with a weird yelp from fear.

'IT'S REEAALLLL!'

Everyone yells at the same time. Ren gets up from beside you and helps you sit up from the floor.

"Wh-What is going on? D-Did that cat just talk!?" You yell back.

"How many times do I have to tell you? I'm not a cat!"

"Wait a second... is that you Morgana?" You ask baffled.

'That reoccurring phrase and attitude. But how is he here? In reality? Talking!?'

"How'd you figure that out so quickly?" Ryuji says shocked.

"Wild guess," you huff. Ren helps you stand up and you both sit back down on the bench. "How the heck is he talking? And why am I able to understand him?"

"Ummm... That's a bit more complicated. It'll be easier if we explain everything else first," Ann speaks up. "Morgana is more educated on this stuff, but maybe we should explain so you're not freaked out too much."

"I'll just fill in what you guys miss," Morgana agrees nonchalantly.

"Oh, okay... You all have my utmost attention," you say very confused. You take another glance at Morgana and he looks back, causing your gaze to immediately shoot away.

'What on earth...'

"So, that castle we were in before- it was another reality inside the heart of Kamoshida, and how he viewed the school," Ren explains.

"A reality inside someone's heart? Is that true?" You ask.

"Nav?" You ask. Ren gives you back your phone and you look at your screen and notice the app you deleted not too long ago was once again downloaded. "I thought I deleted this stupid thing."

"That navigation app is what allowed us to enter the metaverse," Ann explains. You click on the app and see the three input options once again. A name, a place, and distortion.
