A/N: Sorry if this is all over the place. I wanted to avoid writing filler chapters in the middle of the main chapters leading to the duel with Bastion. I'm currently writing the next chapter, so please be patient as I'm updating whenever I get a chance to come back on here.
It was a tense fifteen minutes later when Jesse reached the infirmary. Miss Fontaine rushes to his side and asked in worry, "How did this happen?" Jesse huffs, "I....don't.....know." Miss Fontaine replies, "Lay her on the bed. I need to check the severity of her injuries." His fears of nearly losing his dear sister were coming true.
It had been almost two months since you had fallen unconscious. You were still unconscious and your brother hadn't left your side ever since then. "Jesse, come on." Jaden tried to get Jesse to leave but he refused to move an inch. Jaden said, "I want to see her wake up as much as you do, Jes. However, if Y/N was awake...she'd kill you for ditching like this." Izanami agreed with the brunet, "Aijin would want you to go, Jesse-san. Don't worry about her, we will be here with her. She will be safe under our supervision."
With hands clenched, Jesse headed towards the academy. All he could hear was the voices of his fellow classmates whispering to each other. Jaden put his hand on his best friend's shoulder, "Just ignore them, Jesse." Jesse felt helpless, "It's hard not to listen to them, Jay. Anyways, let's go." Jaden could feel his friend's pain. It was like an arrow had suddenly struck the most important person to Jesse.
Later the same evening, Jesse had come to the room where you were currently sleeping against your own will. Jesse held your hands, "Sis, you gotta wake up. How are we going to fight those freaks without your help?" He adds, "They're multiplying and no one has any idea on how to run them out of the school." He saw a tear fall down your cheek. He gently said, "Hey...don't cry. I just want you to wake up...so does everyone else. Plus, Ma and Dad can't know what's going on. If they do, they'll try to make you go to another school. I don't want you to leave yet. It's too soon. So please, wake up." "Don't lose hope yet." Jesse was surrounded by his Crystal Beast spirits. He thought to himself, "Having her fall into a coma wasn't a coincidence. This had to be set up somehow."
You stood in front of your sleeping body. You sigh, "Of all the times this could happen, it had to be now." You add to yourself, "Although, Jesse did have a point when he said this entire situation was a setup." You hear someone enter and vanish instantly. You come back and see Alexis enter the room. She sat in the chair adjacent to the bed and murmured, "Please wake up soon. The swarm of weird creatures is rapidly growing and no one can stop it." You groan, "Don't remind me please. It's a literal storm of tengu." Alexis looks around, "It feels like someone's watching me." You had an idea. You spot a piece of paper and a pen as you watch the blonde Obelisk sigh. Alexis froze when she saw the pen in front of her move on its own. Find the weakness of the enemy and try to take away the link that makes their armies strong.
****Three days later****
Three days later, Jaden had been looking for Jesse. For the last few days, he had been coming back late at night with no explanation. With a sense of disgruntlement, the brunet chose to confront his best friend. When he found the cerulean-haired Obelisk, he was in for a shock. Yubel sighs, "More of those freaks." Jesse bellows, "Hey you! Get away from my sister!" Jesse let out a discomforted huff as the creatures vanished. Jesse spun around to see Jaden standing behind him with a stunned expression. Jesse rubs his neck in embarrassment, "H-Hey Jay...." Jaden asked, "What happened here?" Jesse explains, "Well y'see...I was just coming to visit my sister when those freaky creatures tried to attack me and get close to Y/N." Jaden adds with a curious look, "Is that why you've been coming back really late?" Jesse nods, "The Crystal Beast spirits have been going nuts over these weird things." The Obelisk adds quietly, "I just want her to wake up. It's been three months already and I'm worried that she'll never wake up from this coma. I almost lost her once...I can't lose my sister again." Jaden said, "Jesse..."
