Chapter 23

Jennie's POV

Jisoo's stable right now but she lost a lot of blood and she couldn't leave the hospital until she's fully healed. We also contacted her parents, telling them to hide and keep safe until everything's okay. We explained the situation and they understood.

I am here inside Jisoo's room, Rosé went home to get some clothes while Lisa went to the palace to make sure Chan and Lia's safety and to get what my baby has been asking, toys.

"Chu, it's been 2 days, wake up already" I said as I hold her hands, expecting, every single minute, for her to wake up.

"Where am I?" A weak voice came from Jisoo as she slowly opens her eyes.

"Chu!" I hugged her, thank god she's awake.

"What happened Jen? why does my left side hurt?" She asked as she tries to sit but failed because of the excruciating pain on her left side.

"Don't move, you got shot, you have to rest." She obliged and went back to lying down.

"Rosé? where is she?" She asked, looking everywhere expecting to see Rosé.

"She went home to get some fresh clothes and sheets she could use" I said. She simply nodded.

"I should call the doctor" I said as I press the button near the bed that sends alert to the nurses' station.

After a few minutes, a nurse and the resident doctor came in.

"Miss Kim, how are you?" The doctor asked as she checked Jisoo's vitals. Jisoo simply smiled indicating that she's fine. After a few checks, they left her with medicine to lessen the pain from the operation.

Lisa's POV

I am on my way to fetch the toys Jennie's kid requested. I never thought motherhood is this demanding. As soon as I got the toys, I immediately went inside the car as Aaron drove.

We reached the palace in no time and Lia greeted me with kisses and smiles. I gave her the toys she wanted and kissed her on the cheek before I big my goodbye since I still have to go to the hospital.

I was on my way out the palace when I saw a strange man lurking behind the walls outside. I alerted the security to have a full rounds around the palace just mo make sure the safety of Chan and Lia.

I think it's time for this to end. After Jisoo recover, I will have them kept in one place and Rosé and I will handle the person behind this by ourselves. We cannot live in fear and be hiding forever.

Instead of heading back to the hospital, I decided to go to the headquarters. Regardless of my status of being a princess, Mr. Lee will leave the headquarters under Rosé and I's supervision.

As I entered the facilities, everyone greeted with respect. I went directly to Rosé's office and there I saw her reading some files.

"Lisa" She said looking at me with a confuse look.

"Chaeng, I figured, we should be the one's tracking down the person who wants me dead." I said as I sat on one of the chairs here in her office and grabbed the apple beside her lamp.

"it's too dangerous for you Lis" She said acting like she got everything figured out.

"No, you can't say it's not safe for me because it's not safe for you too, none of us here are safe until we caught the person behind this" I said with a firm voice looking at her straight into her eyes.

"No, I cannot compromise your safety." She said. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"Roseanne Park, you have to know that I AM the reason why this is happening. Think about Jisoo, I know how you feel for her, think about her safety. Chaeng I know you understand that no one can finish this except me" I said convincing her to put me on the team doing the investigation.
