Blaise's POV
we had been in conversation for hours, barely noticing how time flew by as we had finally arrived at hogwarts. we had bought a lot of stuff on the train - specifically candy - noticing the fact she had quite the sweet tooth. normally draco would ask people what their blood status was but i don't think he cared that much when it came to this girl.

she had so many things to talk about - how life at home was, all the trips she'd been on, even stuff her cat frost does. she'd definately be great friends with luna lovegood if she were to be put into ravenclaw just like her mother.

i could talk to her for hours. she was so interesting, and so pretty. her silky, long, black hair that reached her waist never seemed to get tangled of knotty and her eyes were just so.. mesmerizing. i really hope she'll be in slytherin.

we arrived at the castle leading y/n around. draco was being friendlier than usual. he'd barely met this girl too, but i don't think he was that interested in a relationship like that with her.. and then we bumped into the trio.

specifically hermione granger, ron weasley and - of course - harry potter.

they noticed y/n with us, seemingly confused as they too never met her before. they were quite interested too.

"oh- sorry," ron said as he accidentally knocked over y/n's books when bumping into her. he was quite focused on the conversation harry and hermione was having with him that he didn't even notice us. "who are you?" he asked.

"ron, don't be so rude!" hermione nudged him, noticing his tone of voice. i don't think ron was trying to be rude, he was just taken aback clearly not knowing who y/n was. nobody had seen her around before, that's all. "i'm hermione granger, he's ron weasley and this is harry potter. you don't seem too familiar, i apologise about his tone of voice." hermione said politely, barely noticing that me and draco were standing there.

Draco's POV
i was standing behind y/n with blaise. god, i really hope she doesn't befriend that trio. i don't want them taking this friendship from us - especially after i noticed the way blaise looked at y/n.

she introduced herself to them and she picked up her books, harry helping. she seemed quite interested in them but i hoped it was only because she wanted a good first impression seen as she had started school here later than the rest of us.

hermione noticed me and blaise and she ended up stopping the conversation, leaving with a goodbye. she didn't want to acknowledge us.

Harry's POV
the girl was quite nice. she was very pale, just like malfoy, and she had black hair that reached her waist.

i had already noticed that draco and blaise were with her, but i don't think hermione did. i hoped that they weren't already friends with her because she seemed too good for them. let's just hope she's not in slytherin.

Y/N's POV
they were really nice, i wondered why they left so abruptly - it was alright though as draco and blaise brought me to the great hall, and i sat by the doorway. i had to be sorted first before the first years, so we waited for them to arrive and then we could resume.

i saw blaise and draco sat by the slytherin table. i got lead in and i was in front of all the first years. there were four long tables, one for each house, with a house banner being held by the ceiling each.

professor dumbledore, the headmaster, had introduced the teachers and explained what went on at hogwarts. then professor mcgonagall brought a seat out and a hat - the sorting hat - which would determine which house you'd go in.

i was first.

Blaise's POV
she was first to be sorted and i was nervous. i really hope that y/n gets put into slytherin, she was so fun to be around and even though i only met her this morning i feel like i could do something with her. she looked so pretty up there too, with part her hair going over her shoulder and the the rest swaying softly on her back.

Hermione's POV
she better be gryfindoor. she's too nice to be a slytherin, too nice to be around malfoy. i was worried for her.

Draco's POV
y/n was sat up there. the sorting hat was taking a couple seconds before warming up to her and i could tell blaise was nervous, it was almost like he had a thing for her.

Y/N's POV
i was shaking a bit, nervous whether or not i'd be sorted into my friends' houses. i felt super attached to them already, they were the first friends i've ever had and i didn't want to be parted from them.

"ah, y/n everest. mother being a ravenclaw, the dad a slytherin. a cunning yet sweet girl." the sorting had said. please, please be slytherin i begged in my head. "slytherin, you say? well, so be it. SLYTHERIN!" it called out. i was gleaming knowing it listened and took into account what i wanted.

i walked to the slytherin table and sat by my friends as all the first years got sorted. i noticed the boy i met earlier was staring at me. i never really thought of what they looked like, it was dark afterall so i couldn't really notice all their features. all i knew was that harry had glasses, hermione had medium lengthed hair and the other boy, ron, was clumsy.

draco saw.

Draco's POV
harry potter out of all people started staring at her. i wondered why as i gave him a dirty look, noticing his eye roll as he turned back to ron and hermione. then he started whispering to them, then they kept looking back at us then back at each other.

it was SO obvious that blaise liked her. he never really talked about love, nor did he ever really talk to girls the way he was talking to her, y/n, someone he had just met. i didn't want anything getting in the way of that.
