Yo! Yes, I'm back. And for good now, or I hope so. Enjoy.
Your words are sharp, as the kunais can be
So are the shurikens, made out of dreams
Look at the sky, and what can you see?
The stars, the same shape as a weapon made of steel
I can see them hidden in your eyes
Every time, your look is killing me a bit inside
with the whole universe gathered in your orbs
the most beautiful deadly stars just thrown straight into my soul
It was a broken whistle, maybe a cry. But why the sob was coming out of my mouth? It's been a year, a long one. And I couldn't believe it has passed so fast. It felt like it was yesterday, but it wasn't. Blond hair basked in the sunlight, blue eyes with the spark of hope.
I ruffled my hair and rolled on stomach. It was a hard night, a lot of nightmares has passed by my mindscape, and even tho I tried to realize they were just dreams it wasn't that obvious at all. Eventually, I got up and drunk a glass of water. I knew I wasn't to get any more rest this night, or maybe this morning? It didn't matter. The day of our return was coming closer inexorably, to be honest, more like the hour than a day. It was the day. We were coming home tonight, me and Guy. And that was the only thing I had prayed for the last few months, but also my biggest fear of the time.
A hard knock was directed to my doors, then they swung open to reveal my biggest-
"Yosh Kakashi! Are you ready to get back to our youthful country of fire? Can you believe, today is the day we will get back and put our feet in our homeland?! We, the great warriors, heroes of Konohagakure will stand tall and strong IN OUR VILLAGE" he almost cried at the words.
"Yo Guy, did you sleep well? Thanks for asking, I did myself quite well." I faked a smile feeling tourments within my soul. How I could even go there and look into his eyes? Was it possible just to face him? Even though I failed him awfully. Guy was babbling something but it didn't get to me. All I heard was a muffled sound, the ringing in my ears was getting louder, and louder. My vision, the picture of the blond, getting blurred. But it was time to pack our belongings and set off on the road.
We said our farewells to the inn owners, where we stayed for more than a year. We were pacing back to Konoha, the rhythm wasn't too fast. It was a miracle Guy could walk again, tho I didn't want him to strain himself. As about me, I was training quite a bit while on our vacation. Trying my new eyes, and adapting my chakra level to the new jutsu. I hoped to gain some points in Hokage's eyes, so she wouldn't be so harsh when we finally come back. I was always a good soldier, and I planned to become even a better one.
When we reached the border of the village hidden in the leaves I felt uneasy. I was happy, of course- but on the other hand, I was scared as a puppy. There were responsibilities waiting for me, our Hokage, a knucklehead with a lot of questions. And I had no answer, to none of them.
We crossed the gates and greeted the guards, Kotetsu and Izumo welcomed us warmly and directed our footsteps to Hokage's office. So there it was - the final court. We went there, and as we stepped into the office the warm hazelnut eyes looked at us with disapproval.
"A year, huh? I should know it better, for real. Will you be so nice and explain to me why it took you two so long to come back?" Tsunade was irked, but not angry.
"Tsunade-sama we are oh so happy to be back in this youthful village! And as you can see, I'm again healthy enough to stand on my feet by myself! I'm sure it's because of your great skills, and now as a loyal shinobi I'd like to pay back my debt in the name of our village!" Guy kneeled down and bowed profoundly. Then she looked at me
"Hokage-sama, I'm happy to inform you that our mission of Guy's convalescence, even tho in an extended period, has come to the end with a succes. Please, give us new orders, so we can accomplish them. "She looked at us and sighed, but a smile graced her lips "Well, I am really happy to have you both back in the village. You are one of my greatest shinobi, so believe me or not the new missions will be assigned soon. As for now, please leave and go back to your apartments. I expect you back in my office, tomorrow about noon. Now shoo, I have a lot of work to do." she smiled once more and get back to her work.
We walked out and bid our farewells, I was strolling to my home admiring the beauty of the streets. I must confess, it was too long since the last time I was here. I was passing by the people, villagers, shinobis, saying hi here and there. Sometimes I even stopped by to exchange a few words with comrades. The sand and rocks under my sandals were so familiar, it just felt good. I felt right, in the right place, where I supposed to be, where I belonged. As I turned around a corner a silent gasp, barley a whisper reached my ears.
"Kakashi?" a quiet voice, so familiar, so well known sent sparkles right into my guts. I turned around and there he was. His face, so masculine and mature, but also astonished, his eyes directed straight into mine. There he was, standing in shock, the blond. Naruto blinked again "Kakashi?" I noticed a hand grabbing him under the elbow, just behind him the silhouette, the person, ah Hinata scooped closer to the greatest ninja of four nations.
"Tadaima... Naruto" I replied with my closed-eyes smile.
(A/N) Soooo.... How did you like it? Can you leave comments, pretty please! I wasn't writing for such a long time. I feel like I can't do it anymore.
