Detention, Dione, Chemicals Reacted
_____________________________________________________________________I walk in from recess and notice that two idiotic boys are running freely around the classroom and laughing their heads off. Brian throws down some chairs delaying Colton to catch up with him.
I sit at my desk, hoping I don't get knocked over or killed, I take out my math notebook and start to do the questions Mrs. Ventino put up on the board for us to solve quietly.
"Colton and Brian!" Mrs. Ventino calls to the boys causig them to stop what they are doing and listen. Both boys look at her with innocent faces. "Come here this instant!" She calls out. She catches the attention of everybody else. Most of us, except for a couple who are smarty pants and only care about doing work, turned aroun. Some only for a second just to see what was going on, others watched, most laughed. I watched.
Brian walked over with his head down. I know what he's doing. He does this all the time. It's to get out of trouble. They think he's sincerely sorry and that it won't happen again so they let him off the hook. I'm not sure if it will work this time though.
He uses this strategy for when we have a supply teacher, he never holds back to throw a spitball, maybe two or three. Maybe even take her chair away while she's trying to sit on it, that's only happened once though, and she was a young supply teacher so she laughed it off.
But, he isn't a troublemaker at all. He just likes to have fun.
I try and focus on the math question but it's hard when there is yelling in the background. Especially because the yelling is at Brian.
"Explain to me," She demands from the both of them. "What you were doing. You could have killed someone." She overreacts. I try not to laugh at her level of stupidity. They couldn't have killed someone. It didn't look or seem harmful. They were laughing about it while they ran around too.
If anyone could kill Colton though, it would be me and it would have been done a long time ago.
After they return to there seats, the class sits in an unusual and awkward silence until Mr. Swartz (Or Mr. Active, as Brian and Colton calls him.) walks in the room exchanging quiet whispers that I couldn't really understand.
"Alright listen up!" Mr. Swartz says demanding attention. "I'll be running the boys soccer team this year! Tryouts for it are tomorrow at eight AM sharp. In the gym, of course." He says chuckling. I sneak a quick glance at Brian and I think his ears raised and his level of attention went up. He even looks a bit happier then the last time I looked at him before he came in delivering the news. I could tell he was getting excited just thinking about being MVP on this team. Mr. Swartz said his goodbyes and he walks out of the room.
I start to feel a very gentle breeze on my shoulder. I turn around and see Colton slicing the air violently at Brian. Brian starts to laugh quietly trying not to draw attention to the two of them because it would only get them in more trouble.
Still, Mrs. Ventino definitely feels the need to question his arm and double-check if he needs to see the nurse. He replies with "No ma'am, my arm just fell asleep. I'm trying to wake it up, see?" He says and starts to slam the desk with his hand really hard. Each slam getting quieter because his hand probably began to sting with pain.
I look at my work, trying really hard to stay focused instead of listening and watching the ruckus in the background between Brian, Colton, and Mrs, Ventino.
I'm pretty sure that if the rest of the afternoon continues this way, Mrs. Ventino will have no voice tomorrow and will have to take a sick day.
Carry on then boys...
