Hello, Goodbye, and Hello again.

_________________________________________________________________________

My head is pounding and screams are shaking the building. My arm hurts, I don't know why it hurts. I feel loopsy, and then I'm being picked up and laid on something.

Have I died?

No. That can't be the case. I hear screams and there was no light. But what if there is no light when you die?

'

Ann's voice. I hear it. She's here. Along with a deep voice. My father? Why would he be here? Wait, no, that can't be him.

I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm sure of it.

Now there are tons of voices asking various questions. I can't quite make the voices out, there not all that clear. Whoever is talking is probing my skin too. My index finger has a sudden small pressure on it. There's quick sighs of relief. I don't recognize any of these voices. I can't identify my surroundings or open my eyes.

"Where's the sister?" Someone asks.

Ann's still here.

"The waiting room, doctor."

Doctor?

I try very hard to open my eyes, to move my arm, to open my mouth and tell them to stop, but for some reason, I just can't do it.

The light. The light. It's coming towards me.

"We're loosing him!"

--

The heart monitor attached to young Brian Kaley had flatlined.

"Someone get the father in here with a crash cart, right now!"

It was like the doctor didn't have to say anything, the father just came rushing in.

"Clear!" The nurse yelled as she held the defibrillator to his chest. No change, he was still flatlining.

"That's my son!" Mr. Kaley yells out to the doctors. Ann then comes running into the room clinging on to her father.

"I need someone to call Bella Soreta."

"That will be arranged." Declares a nurse.

"Alright, get ready to shock him again!" The head doctor announces with a pale look on her face. This is not what she had in mind for tonight, she was not about to loose this boy, not when he had so much to live for. His skin might be pale, his eyes may be shut, but his life was in her hands.

She notices the little girl clinging to her father's waist. This was her brother.

Then there was another loud incident coming through the doors. Screams and cries of a woman. "Hold it together, honey." A man yells behind her, chasing the stretcher. A young teenage girl with long straight brown hair comes in behind the father. She begins to chase after what I am assuming is her mother and father but then stops and makes eye contact with Brian's father.

"Bella?" The little girl asks and runs into her arms. "How did you get here so fast?"

"We've got a heartbeat." The nurse declares. This kid comes alive for that girl.

Once again, everyone in the room sighs in relief. But that doesn't change the fact he's in a coma.

The head doctor takes off her gloves. "This is how were going to play it, move him up to Intensive care and I want a nurse with him every second. I'll fill the family in."
