Third grade, continuation of the first day, 'but do you like her man?'
____________________________________________________________
"Bella and Brian sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the carriage!" Was chanted by the entire third grade at Braves Elementary School. I simply kept my mind on the soccer ball because it blocks out the chanting. It makes the world go silent. It's just the soccer ball, the players and I.
The boys invited me to play soccer with them, and I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to play soccer. I was MVP on my local house league soccer team, the Madeira Rainers.
I got a pass from my team member that I didn't know the name of yet. I took a shot at the net and unsurprisingly, the shot was turned into another point. That left us with five points and the other team with only two. I smiled at this thought. Soccer was more then just a game for me.
I noticed Bella watching me with a group of girls all standing just a tiny bit behind her. Three girls were giggling over something, two were watching the games, and one was whispering in her ear about something. Then I noticed it made her blush. What made her blush? Was it a boy? A weird joke? Something else?
That made me wonder, why do girls blush anyways? Why do they giggle? Why are they always so nervous? Girls are weird. I never understand them.
As I was chasing the ball that the opponent had, I heard my name being called. Louder and louder as I slowed down to find out who was calling it. I looked to the right, where the calling had been coming from and I found a guy catching up to me.
"So, do you like her, man?" Colton Dennare asked me. He was one of the few I know the name of.
"Who would be 'her?'" I asked him, even though I was pretty sure 'her' was Bella due to the recent train of events.
"Bella," he told me. "Do you like her?"
"No." I answered, even though I was head over heels for Bella. I ran off for the ball. "I'M OPEN!" I yelled at a fellow teammate who passed the ball to me, confident that I could get another point for the team before the recess was over, and I did. Obviously.
