"Where is he," Selene repeated before looking over at Dalton. She smiled at him and Dalton seemed to widen his eyes even more. I pressed myself against the wall as Selene struggled to sit up. "Why am I tied up," Selene asked. I looked over at Dalton and he cleared his throat. "Amira thought it would be best," Dalton said.
Selene looked my way and her eyes were emotionless like her tone. She starred at me for a long time with that blank expression. "Why," Selene asked. Her voice sounded like she would be perfect in a horror movie and she was the killer who had amnesia. "You...saw something that upset you. Do you remember," I asked while trying not to let my voice shake. Selene shook her head no and I sighed in relief. Maybe I would live to see another day after all. "What happened," Selene asked. There went my life.
"Dalton's going to tell you," I said quickly and walked toward the bed. I grabbed a pillow and went back to the wall. I slid down the wall and curled up in a ball using the pillow for protection. "Tell me," Selene said still emotionless as she turned toward Dalton. "I-I was under a spell and kissed a mermaid while you were watching. I'm sorry Selene. I didn't have any choice," Dalton said quickly and took a step closer to Selene. It was a very small but also very foolishly brave step.
The two of us waited for Selene to say something. She seemed to be staring into space. "Oh," Selene said and my jaw dropped. Oh? Was that all she was going to say? I was scared for nothing. "H-honey are you okay," Dalton asked. "I'm fine. Why shouldn't I be? I mean you only...," Selene trailed off. I noticed her eyes widen before she clenched her fists. "YOU KISSED HER," Selene exploded and tried to jump out of bed.
Dalton took a few steps back and Selene fell out of bed. "This is only the beginning Dalton Isaac Bell," Selene exclaimed. Selene managed to get to her feet and tried to wiggle out of the belt. Dalton wrapped his arms around Selene but she continued to wiggle. She banged her head on his shoulder when Dalton refused to let her go. "Let me go! I'm going to kill you and that little mermaid! Who does she think I am," Selene exclaimed.
"She didn't know who my heart belonged to Selene. Just calm down," Dalton said and that startled Selene. "W-what did you say," Selene asked. I sighed in relief because Selene was seriously starting to scare me. "I said that my heart belongs to you, Selene. It always had and it always will but you have to promise me something," Dalton said. This really wasn't the time for negotiations.
"W-what? You need me to kill someone for you," Selene asked quickly and Dalton shook his head. "You just have to accept me. I know that you think I force you to take your medicine and go to the doctor but it's only because I really, truly love you. I don't want you to think I take joy in making you upset," he said. Selene nodded and Dalton kissed her. It was sweet and cute at first but that was five minutes ago. I cleared my throat and they didn't stop kissing.
"There is an empty room right next door. Protection first," I joked and Selene and Dalton broke apart. "We aren't...," Selene said. "No we aren't...," Dalton said. I hoped they understood each other because I was lost. "We still have an injured person in the room," I said. Selene turned to face me with concern and said, "I didn't attack you. Did I?" "I was talking about Thanos," I said and the room went quiet.
"He'll be fine," Selene said before dragging Dalton out the room. "Sorry Amira but don't wait up for Selene," Dalton said before they walked out of the room to do who knows what. I took a few deep breaths before walking toward Thanos. He was so kind for helping Dalton and Selene. I knelt down in front of him and watched his breathing. Everything seemed normal. Before I knew what I was doing, my hand was inches from Thanos's face.
I stopped my hand from touching Thanos. I didn't want to disturb him. I bit the inside of my bottom lip in frustration. I couldn't stop myself as my fingers gently touched his skin. Thanos seemed to react so I pulled back. "No," he whispered. I decided to let Thanos rest so I brought him a cover. When the cover was secure, I hesitated.
