"It's all right. You know me," the voice whispered and Thanos stood up. Thanos's black bracelet shifted into a black shield and he stood in front of me. "Who are you," Thanos asked. "I did not come for you. I came for her. You know me," the voice whispered and I saw a woman wearing a white dress covered in blood.
"I don't know you," I said and the lady's smile dropped. "Of course you do. What do you mean you don't know me," the woman said with her voice trembling. "Maybe we can help you cross over. Is there something you need to say? Something you need to do," Selene said but the lady screamed.
I felt like my skin was burning and I started to scream. Everyone was trying to get my attention but the lady's eyes were locked on mine. "You will remember! You must," she exclaimed and then I passed out from the pain.
When I woke up my arms were sore. I reached down to scratch them but someone grabbed my hand. When I locked up Thanos was holding my wrists above my head. "Can't scratch them. They're raw," he said. I looked down and my skin was red and looked like it was pealing. I looked over and saw Selene sleeping in her bed with Dalton resting his head against her bed.
I gave my attention to Thanos and he was staring at me. "What," I asked. "Nothing. Just don't scratch," he said and released my hands. As tempting as it was to scratch, I didn't. I decided to get Thanos to tell me more about him. "How long have you been here," I asked. "Six years. Don't remember where I came from or my parents. They're as good as dead to me anyways," he said. "Why," I asked. "If two people could give their kid up just because he's different and never sends a letter, let's just say those people are on my list," Thanos said. "What list," I asked.
"The list of people I plan on killing myself when I get out of here. Of course another challenge is figuring out who they are," Thanos said like he was talking about drinking water. "What if they were too young to understand? What if they were scared," I asked and the room went silent. I was scared that I said to much until Thanos said, "A dog is still a dog no matter what you dress him in."
I took the hint that Thanos didn't want to talk about that anymore. "So do you have any real friends," I asked. "I prefer to be alone but I could consider the people in this room my companions. Yes that includes you," he said noticing my shocked expression. "Sorry. I just thought you didn't like me," I stated and he smirked. "I get that a lot and most of the time it's true," Thanos said and then laid his head on my bed.
"Are you staying," I asked. "Is this a problem," he asked and I grabbed the extra cover. I draped it around his shoulders and drifted to sleep feeling better that Thanos was there. Why I felt that way I wasn't sure. When I woke up the next morning Thanos was gone with a neatly folded blanket sitting on the edge of the bed.
When I looked closer I saw a red rose on top of the blanket. I picked it up carefully and it smelled like rain. It was then that I realized the type of man Thanos was. "Womanizer," I mumbled and put the rose on my dresser. I looked over to see Dalton touching Selene's hand unconsciously. I didn't want to ruin the moment so I got dressed quietly.
When I walked out of the room I didn't know where to go. I decided to go left and explore. I walked down a long corridor before hearing water splashing. I opened a huge pair of double doors and saw what looked like a pool. The only difference was that six people with tales were swimming. "Who are you," a red headed girl with green eyes asked.
"I'm Amira. I was just looking around. Where am I," I asked. "You're in the mermaid section. Don't come swim in our water because it will kill you," she said and a few girls laughed. "Stop scaring the girl Pandora," a brown haired boy with blue eyes said. "It's the truth Rivan and you know it," Pandora said and the water started to swirl around her.
