TW: there are mentions of blood and a head being decapitated incase either of those trigger you!
Arriving to the crime scene, you follow Morgan as he walks over to Hotch and Spencer, keeping your head down to avoid any eye contact. The crime scene was in a house that appeared to be abandoned, graffiti and holes all around the walls, the floor very unstable. Blood was splattered on one of the walls, the victim's head decapitated, and body drained almost completely of blood.
"Hey what did the m.e say about the recent victim?" Hotch asks the both of you, looking up at Hotch as Morgan speaks.
"Tox screen showed no drugs in her system when she died. C.O.D was blunt force to the head—" as Derek is talking you turn walking closer to the body crouching down and tilting your head. "But this is a big change of MO Hotch."
"I agree," you assure. "If you look at the edge of the neck and head, it was made with hesitation. The cut isn't straight, is partially ja-" you pause moving closer to the body. "It almost seems like whatever the unsub used wasn't near sharp enough. There's signs of resistance but it's unclear if that's from lack of strength, hesitation, or a dull object." You explain standing up walking towards the three men. As Hotch begins to speak you glare at Spencer, he glares right back.
Ugh he looks so hot right now.
His hair is messy like he didn't comb it after he'd woken up this morning. Neither of you break eye contact excluding the occasional glance to his lips, until Hotch says to meet back at the station.
Somehow Morgan convinced you to ride back with Spencer. Multiple times Spencer opened his mouth to speak, but never said anything. Everything felt like it was completely ruined, you use one of your hands to grab onto your necklace, the metal warm from sitting against your chest. The only times you did were when you were either uncomfortable, nervous, scared, or insanely happy. Currently? It's uncomfortable.
Back at the station, everyone meets up to go over everything we already know. With the unub's MO changing and the fact that he's escalating, there isn't much time to work with before it's too late and there's yet another victim.
"I thought you forgot about me, it hurt," Penelope answers over the phone, you smile and look down at the table glancing at all the papers spread out.
"Babygirl, we need information. We're not getting any closer with finding this on of a bitch, and his MO keeps changing," Derek says with a stressful tone.
"Let the wizard work her wonders, whachya need?" She's responds, everyone's silent for a moment. Hotch walks closer to the phone.
"Garcia, look for men that have recently been released from any medical facility, preferably any mental institutions... it needs to be recent enough to correlate with the victims." Hotch states hearing typing on her keyboard while he explains the parameters.
"Yeah, I'm gonna need more than that," she states. The team continues speaking, you notice Spencer staring at you again.
What's with this guy and his staring? Does he have an undiagnosed eye disease that causes staring at the finest bitches? That's it- undiagnosed.
Keeping eye contact with him for a moment, you break it turning your head to the phone, leaning forward to avoid shouting.
"Garcia, he would've had to have been undiagnosed until very recently. Just because he was possibly in a mental institution doesn't mean they figured out what he had right away. Look for rare diseases," you pointed out.
"Well that's not a lot of info- woah," she pauses for a moment before speaking again. "Okay yeah- Karl Minxe; he fits the profile perfectly, was recently released from an institution that has since been shut down due to budget costs... they couldn't transfer him to another facility because he wasn't diagnosed until recently," she explains as you look at Hotch nodding.
