The sounds of protests fill the room as I look up at Ashley who sits there with her mouth in a thin line and anger in her eyes.
"Ashley," Newt says, her eyes turn towards the blonde boy and for a split second worry crosses Newts eyes before it goes back to the little smirk he puts on.
"Yes?" she asks
"As my co-leader, what do you suggest we do?" Newt says I didn't understand the comment but the sounds of gasps and shocked expressions flow around the room
"So not only are we going to not punish the shank but now you're breaking the rules, and we're having more then one true leader what gives you the right?" gally says gasping air like a fish.
"Well I used to be the leader, and now I'm a co-leader if you have an issue bring it up with one of us because we are both your true leaders and you will respect us," Newt says looking back up to Ashley, clearly finished with Gally.
"What shall we do?" Newt asks Ashley, this time she looks to be deep in thought
"Minho" she finally concludes
"You're our witness, You were there with him. What do you think?" she asks him, straitening her back, making her look strong and powerful.
"I think...in all the time we've been here... no one has ever killed a Griever before. When I turned tail and ran... this dumb shank stayed behind to help Alby. Look, I don't know if he's brave or stupid. But whatever it is, we need more of it. I say we make him a runner." Minho states staring Ashley directly in the eyes; she smiles before relaxing back into her seat
"Minho, let's not jump the gun, here." The crowd spurts out all different words which mostly sound like protests against the idea
"Thomas! Thomas! Thomas!" Chuck gets up and starts chanting I turn around to look at him before turning back to Ashley, who has her hand covering her mouth but her eyes show a devious twinkle.
"If you want to throw the newbie a parade, that's fine. Go ahead. But if there is one thing I know about the maze...it is that you do not-" gally begins, but all of a sudden a noise begins to interrupt Newt and Ashley both get up distressed and run out the room.
"Okay, wait. I know that sound." I whisper
"The Box," Minho states seeming to be in a state of shock.
"It's coming back up," I state obviously.
"it shouldn't be." Is all Ashley says as she turns around to look at me, as the Box begins to open Gally and Newt arrive at it first, Newt Jumps into the box
"Newt, what do you see?" Ashley asks finally reaching the box
"It's a girl." Newt states with his face full of confusion Ashley takes a step back.
"I think she's dead." He continues Ashley squints before jumping in the Box with Newt she brushes the girl's hair back a little before grabbing something into her hand but as soon as she picks the note up she drops it immediately covering her mouth
