"I think it's Red" you state. "When I left to do tasks on my own, I didn't see Cyan and Red split up"
"What?" Red says, offended "I would never- you know we were friends! You- you don't trust me any more?"
"We can't make any more mistakes though" Green declares, desperate to not eject another innocent crewmate.
"That's true. The more crewmates we eject, the easier it is for the imposter, or, inposters to kill the rest of us. So we can't eject carelessly" Yellow agrees
"Well, storage isn't that far from medbay" Orange agrees with you. "I think it's Red"
"What about White though" Blue comments, "Reactor is close to medbay too"
"That's true..." Pink agrees
"No" you shake your head. "Trust me"
"Well... if you're sure..." Green sighs.
Everyone votes.
Red voted for skip
Orange voted for Red
Yellow voted for skip
Green voted for Red
-Lime is dead-
Blue voted for White
-Cyan is dead-
-Purple is dead-
Pink voted for White
-Brown is dead-
Black voted for Red
White voted for Red"So we eject Red" Blue cold-heartedly states.
Feeling slightly guilty as you and the crewmates walk down to storage. Red refuses to make eye contact with anyone, just staring at the floor as Blue and Green stand on either side, blocking escape. Not that Red showed any resistance.
Blue took Red's helmet off, and placed it on a metal box next to her.
"I promise. I didn't kill anyone" Red pleads, and finally looks up.
"Ok. Sorry, but majority wins" Blue shrugs, taking Red's tablet.
Red gets pushed into the trash chute and ejected into space. Blue looks at the vitals, and nods, seemingly relieved. "Red is still alive"
Red was the imposter
You feel sick inside. You had trusted Red before. So did Cyan. You both felt that you were safe around Red. And now Red has stabbed you in the back, figuratively, and literally in Cyan's case.
You no longer feel guilty for accusing Red, instead you feel guilty for leaving Cyan.
"That's... a good thing? That Red is still alive" Black questions
"Well, it means that we didn't eject a crewmate, so yes" Orange states. "The imposter is still alive, that's not good, but I don't see how they could get back into The Skeld. So we're safe"
"Not yet" Green reminds solemnly, "there's still another imposter, remember?"
No longer able to deal with the situation, you leave storage, tears streaming down your face. You're grateful for the reflective helmet.
"White, wait!" Pink calls, but Green gently takes her arm, holding her back.
"I think White might need some time alone" he advises.
"White seemed to get on well with Cyan and Red" you hear Black comment sympathetically.
It's all nice and that for them to feel sorry for you. But you don't need that right now.
You head into your room as you don't know where else to go. After locking the door with your keycard, you pull off your helmet and drop it onto the ground, wiping at your face with the back of your hand. Collapsing onto the floor, you sit down with your back leaning against the door, banging your head against it in frustration.
Later, Blue calls through the door telling you it's dinner time. You don't even respond or move from where you're sitting. You can't sleep at all that night.
It's almost time for breakfast now. Although your stomach is growling, you don't want to face anyone yet. It's just impossible to understand.
You trusted Red.
You and Cyan were betrayed.
And then you know one thing for certain. Whoever the other imposter is, Red's accomplice... they're going down.
Balling your hands into fists, you stand up determinedly, wiping the last evidence of tears from your face. You know you have to be 100% alert at all times. If you let your guard down for as much as a second, it could be the difference between life or death. And you need to live to get revenge. You're doing this for Cyan.
Swinging the door open, you re-attach your helmet and step outside with your tablet.
All the other crewmates are already in the cafeteria. You get a large portion of cereal, and sit on your own in a corner where you can see everyone else. Feeling satisfied but still tired, you search through the drinks cooler.
Bingo. Energy drinks.
You quickly drink a couple, then stash a few chocolate bars in your pocket. You're ready."Hey, are you okay?" Orange asks, walking up to you with Yellow by his side.
"Not really" you respond monotonously.
"Well-" Yellow takes over, "We were thinking maybe you could do tasks with us?"
"No" you calmly but firmly decide. Having other people around would just slow you down from doing tasks, distract you from looking for clues, and you didn't want to trust anyone again. You can't trust anyone.
Choice:
- do tasks but stay alert (Page 102)
- keep on full alert for suspicious activities (Page 103)
